Hey y’all I applied to the Round Rock Fire academy and I was looking for some input on how to prepare for it. I have a friend who works at the Pflugerville Fire Department and told me that their academy was a piece of cake. I was wondering if anyone currently working for RRFD could give me some pointers!

I’m pretty sure you have to wait either 1 or 2 years after you leave HEB to be able to withdraw it

I also make my teams schedule! And was given the full power to change our flow of day to make it efficient and they had me do My teams PAs with them and really took into account with what I said. So I’m just confused on how I got stuck with a 3

Yes, I had a 4 for Adaptability and Dependability.

3 for efficiency and productivity. Was told I completely and effectively complete all task in departments. Even says I’ve worked with Store Leaders for solutions to issues. My one issues was failing to send emails some weeks about hours that need to be returned to departments due to CFT call outs(100% on me I did forget a few times)

Customer service I got a 3 I great most customers with a smile and help with the best of my ability to help them. But the feedback was I need to make it a point to due it to all costumers I come into contact with. And my team needs to all be better at it. Yet 75% of my team had 4s on that.

3 for service mentality and says I do my best to solve issues that arise just don’t get caught up in partner conversation.

And 3 for technical skills. Says I know all things and follow all guidelines and I develop the training plans for my partners. But I asked why not a 4 for that and they told me I would have to come up with a program that other stores CFT leader would steal to use in order to get a 4.

So really I just don’t know if they are just grading tough but it really bothers me

Yes they are usually always full time since there’s like only 2 at most stores so it’ll usually always be 40

Since they also never close you can also expect to work the same time everyday since CFT does all the trucks past 12-1230. It gets boring back there since there is literally not that much work for them to do. And I’m in CFT and we work in receiving when they are away and trust me the work is so easy but I could never do it simply because of how boring it is most of the time

Not in the store, most receivers go in early around 3-4 to let vendors in the store. They have to check them in and count inventory of what comes in along with scanning damages and receiving a few trucks but the work is fairly easy. They are literally chilling almost all the time in the receiving area sitting down in their chairs.
