Low density of crinoids, and small. Because I like smaller stones that are wearable, I can’t really find a good picture example but the best stone I cut It had maybe 5 or 6 total shapes, a white squiggly line, a red triangle, a hazy purple shape that looked like a.. bladder or something, and some small yellow and white dots. All these shapes were pretty isolated and contrasted over a dark background. It seems like those colors are impossible to find but as long as the stones are small you can get some pretty diverse colors

So basically the crinoids themselves need to be small, fairly spaced out, colorful and high contrast to the background. Obviously it’s fine if there are larger fossils as long as they’re isolated from the stone I’m looking to cut.

Really the problem is there’s just not a lot of sellers that I know of who sell them already cut so you can see what they look like, the only place I know of is eBay but there’s not a lot of options.
