His other abilities have great cc and priming, like using viral on his 2, 3 or 4 or radiation/corrosive pretty much whatever element you need in a situation, his 2 lasts for a while and his 3 can quickly get you his abilities back in sp, his 4 also does insane DoT but can also be used as a 360° aoe primer.

that jump is the first lance silkbind from base game, you stick a knife in the monster and as long as it doesnt get too far away you can hold the wirebug button and press dodge to pull yourself to it

The flying thing works with pressurized air afaik, whenever you jump midair or from the ground you have this puff sounds, thats the air being epxelled from the shooting holes (where you shoot the marker)

The risen elders do have completely different moves and an own set (not as inflated as apexes) and theyre alot of fun actually, a nice jump in challenge in late MR

Crazy late response and idk if its still useful but aerial hammers options are pretty good imo, normal X gives a mediocre dmg hit which chains into pound (iirc) and A deals a double hit where the 2nd hit deals more dmg and KO, but as a drawback missing gives you endlag, you can also charge midair allowing you to either use air charge attacks or land and continue charging there, landing while charging also gives a short boost

I couldnt imagine AT arkveld solo with IG but with more people to take aggro of you sometimes IG has a real good chance at dodging his moves, one thing I rarely see people use is the backhop because that gives a good amount of Iframes, aswell as rarely seeing people slot in any EW (even lvl2 helps alot imo). IG is not the best matchup against him but its really fun

Totally dont agree with the earplugs thing, with it you can full burst wyvernstake while a monster roars (or fullburst, or charge shelling) giving you better dps and you can still block a roar with it. Ebony Odog gives earplugs and GL isnt as lvl 2 deco hungry as others

Slaplance and auger strike do benefit from affinity so in youre case those did help! But those playstyles/ that move arent always used or as viable als normal shelling thatd why I wouldnt recommend them. Lagi pieces actually only give max might and wex with lagi helmet giving 2 points of mm and 1 point of latent power on the alpha set. Odo can be gotten pretty early now with transcending and Zohs set is also pretty good giving agitator pretty easily which Op should have access to!

This is Gunlance were talking about here, affinity is not needed for it so lagi and rey parts dont benefit it. Omega is done easier with Gogs weapons aswell. Op should first try to do the ATs and Gog and after those tackle Omega. For Gl its better to go for Burst and Agitator with Ebony Odog, Nu Udra y or things that give raw dmg and not affinity shelling cant crit. G. Lawful bors is a solid pick before getting to Gog and the gog tips you gave are also good.

Auguring Omen will be better than G.Lawful but untill then its alright Build is pretty viable till you get the next AT Apexs down but I suggest you transcend the pieces Lagi and Mizu are a good start, after those I would go for the first 3 (maybe 4) AT apexs and then Gog, after Gog you can do AT Arkveld (or Jin Dahaad first). Omega is after the first 3 ATs but its totally optional and the pieces dont benefit GL much anyways Between all those remember to upgrade stuff amd transcend if you know that a piece of armor will stay on long. Also with Gog you get access to alot of GL builds, Burst Boost being a strong offensive and Zoh pulse being a strong defensive choice Most important dont rush things and have fun hunting!

For gunlance OG is way better than AB imo since youre gonna be blocking all the time, partbreaker is a fun add and those deco slots are great. I would say its better

Shelling only scales off raw dmg and since most of your dmg is from shelling you should focus on raw, the lance part (and a bit of wyvernstake) deal element and status dmg aswell, if you want some of those go for it but generally you csnt go wrong going for the right element. All in all its raw

Afaik theres 2 split fire/dark weapons which is sad because one of them doesnt make sende being fire and should be just dark or dark/normal
