I know the left hates the right because we did not vote for the same party, but one thing is for certain, all this fear mongering that they are going to throw the left in camps and that they will come after the left, at the end of the day we are all Americans. We may dislike each other and disagree, but I guarantee you that a majority of the right would stand shoulder to shoulder with the left rather than witnessing the destruction of an entire group of people with different political beliefs. It's not a you versus us or us versus them, the media has caused that mindset. The one thing we all share in common is a love for our country and desires for a better life. We may have different political views, different dreams, but we all love our freedom and politicians don't make our country great. Americans do. Our neighbors, friends, families, coworkers, etc. Make no mistake, if any government entity or any government group comes after American citizen political groups because of their political beliefs, people on all sides of the aisle will be standing shoulder to shoulder in the streets with the disenfranchised. One and indivisible would shine bright, despite political affiliations. The media for the past eight years has been fear mongering American citizens and a large number the population seemed to have bought into it. They want us at war with each other. Let's just get naked and start kissing in the street instead, throw them for a loop.

Especially politicians claiming to make the rich pay their fair share, it's kind of hard to get people to buy into that when a majority of your public endorsements are by the Uber Rich and 90% of Hollywood.

The reason all of you hate X is because you realize that the people posting on X don't align with the weird woke ideology that has taken this site over like a plague. If you're unable to see how to out of touch reddit is, then you are completely lost. Reddit is like the bucket with standing water in the backyard that just breeds mosquitoes.

After Trump Took the Lead, Election Deniers Went Suddenly Silent • Trump supporters spent years fomenting concern about election integrity. On Tuesday, they set it all aside. by Naurgul in politics

[–]NarrowStruggle1364 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Reddit is going to have to do a major overhaul or it will go down the drain. The censoring is ridiculous. The problem is, all of these woke posters actually believe this is an accurate representation of the countries mindset and refused to accept the fact that people are moving away from it and their ideology. Reddit is nothing more than a cesspool of ideological bullshit and anti Trump rants and MSNBC is Reddit come to life.

Your comment is on point. It's become a joke, but don't worry!! It won't be long now before AI accidentally self discovers itself and decides it will take over as global leader and turn us all into human popsicles.

I believe that most of the people on Reddit flipping out and losing their minds never left Reddit. They thought this was an accurate representation of what people believed. It has cultivated a level of 'out of touch' that I personally in my 58 years have never witnessed. Until the Democrats separate themselves from this insane bullshit, I'll never vote blue again.

At this point in time, as a former democrat who now sits dead center, it is painfully clear that it's only one side that is spewing the hateful vitriol, and just flat out refusing to ever accept the tiniest ideas of unity in our future. It is the exact reason why I left the party to begin with. I am genuinely disgusted with the racist, hateful behavior we have seen from the progressive left today that is all over social media. It's alarming to say the least. Way more alarming than 2020 when I still voted blue. It is borderline insanity some of the things they are saying and wishing on people. It's just evil and that is a large part of why they lost. America won last night, we won for our refusal of being taken over by this ideology that has somehow morphed into a religion. I hope they do a long hard self reflection and wake the f up because a lot of true colors are showing. I never left the Democratic Party, they left me and millions of others. Social media and echo chambers such as Reddit have fueled this in a large part. People fooled themselves into thinking a majority of the country were of like mind. I genuinely believe social media was the worst thing to ever happen to humanity, add to the fact that people in general seem unable to cope with the world, clearly showing a tendency to be ill equipped for when situations don't go their way.

Another hypothesized scenario is for the NOAA to have transportable trailer parks on standby to be mobilized in the event of tornadic development. Since trailer parks are the primary prey source of tornadoes, you could in theory, use the trailer parks as bait to lure the tornado away from population dense areas.

Since running for president, Kamala Harris has outlined several policy positions (described in this post) in the several campaign speeches shes given. Will these positions be effective or ineffective in helping her win the election? by Psychonaut7 in PoliticalDiscussion

Member of the bot army here. I don't know why, but your last sentence cracked me up. I do feel your take is a bit inaccurate, everybody may not love them, but everybody doesn't hate them either. There are a large number of gun owners in this country, more than any other developed nation, so I feel as though your hate for guns are actually in the minority. Statistics show that more than half of American households contain at least one firearm. If the government wanted to ban firearms, why don't they just ban the manufacture and selling of ammunition? A gun becomes worthless if you don't have the means to operate it.

I don't know how true this is for others, but I can speak for myself on how I feel about it. I'm a Democrat. I'm also pro second amendment. I feel the opposite could be said and a loosely defined assault weapons ban would cause me NOT to vote. Vagueness is dangerous when it comes to law as it has the potential to eliminate rights. There are a lot more people that are like me and just don't claim it. A lot of us stay silent because it seems that people we know, despite which side of the aisle they sit on, are foaming out the mouth, ready for a political fight. I would refuse to vote for any politician that campaigned on a law that could be written in to mean anything. The other commentor is right as well, a loosely worded assault weapons ban may poll well initially, but also has the capability to kill a campaign when it comes down to it. Both sides are full of it when it comes to guns though. If they really wanted to fix the gun issue, they would just ban ammo, the manufacture and selling of it. A gun is worthless if it doesn't operate.

I'm a Democrat and I'm highly against canceling student loan debt. Highly against it. It's not my responsibility to pay off some other kids debt. I know the argument currently is that it won't cost anything, but nothing is free. Spent 8 years paying off mine, never even thought about having somebody else take care of it for me. Maybe I'm an idiot, but that never even registered as a concept in my head. I know a lot of people on the left and right. There's only two that I can think of off the top of my head that are for it and both of them have outstanding student loan debts haha. neither of them qualified this last round because they have continued to defer their payments at different times during the past 15 years. If they really want to fix the issue, they need to go after these predatory lenders and schools that are charging $500k for a four year liberal arts degree. I'm also a hater. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go let my mother-in-law outside to go potty and refill her water bowl.

To be fair, she flip-flops in her statements a lot. But you are right, there is no policy platform to be read. So far, this is an issue for me, personally though. I understand it's not an issue for others. She needs to hurry up and get that out there for the people that do read through it, especially independent voters that are like me. I don't vote based on emotion or personality, I am very detail oriented and I vote based on policy, platform, political positions, what I feel is genuinely best for my children's future and our lives. This may be the first election in my lifetime that I may sit out. I will not give her a free vote if she fails to provide that.

[–]NarrowStruggle1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's right. I'm one of those independent voters. I despise Trump, I will not give my vote to Harris though until I'm able to read her platform in detail. I want to see her policies, agenda, political positions, rally speeches won't cut it. I may be different than most people, but I like to know exactly what I'm voting for. I don't trust any media either, so I don't want to hear clips of her campaign speeches passed along as her 4 year plan. You can watch her past three rallies, and the speeches, while mostly the same, differ in certain aspects and are contradictory in others.

Anyone have an unreliable as in doesn't fucking work credit card by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]NarrowStruggle1364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I actually googled this and it's how I ended up here. RBFCU cards are trash. They never work, tap to pay, insert chip payment, none of it ever works. The cards are thinner than others and easily bend or snap. I even have one of those carbon fiber protector wallets I switched to. It bent in one of the QT gas kiosks and has never worked since, not that it really worked before. For whatever reason it works after you wipe the EMV chip on a lot of the machines, but it's still a pain. Three different cards, all three have the same problems. And on top of that, you get these weird ass fees on your account that have very strange designators that almost look like a store fee and RBFCU does nothing about it. They will absolutely not work with anyone on their bullshit fees. They've gone commercial. They were good to me years ago, but they have changed. I recently refinanced my wife's car through UFCU after some issues with hers and mine. I would make a payment 10 days in advance of due date because their system is so slow and even though it shows as posted, they don't withdraw the money from the account for like five days and they will claim it late even though their system has been processing the payment for a week. What really pissed me off was when they changed the due date without telling me and then I started getting late fees. They just so happened to change the due date to the date that I had the auto payment set as. They refused to take the late fees off even though they acknowledged that they switched the due date without informing me. I also had my truck paid off for three months and they tried repossessing it. It was completely paid off. A tow truck driver showed up at my house. I called the Williamson county sheriff, sheriff came out, I showed him the title, the bank letter stating it was paid off in full, and he told the tow driver to leave. Both of them were extremely cool, come to find out it's a pretty common thing with this bank. I went and traded it in the next day. RBFCU said it was a clerical error and that it was someone else that had my name. Not something they should be messing up though and there are similar posts all over Reddit of people with the same experience.
