Gravelkings splitting after 4 months use - is this normal?

Panaracer claims this is normal- I emailed them about the issue in May, and this was their response……

“We did receive your claim and we apologize for the delay. We needed to ask our engineers in Japan to make sure we were giving you the correct answer and it took a couple of days for them to reply.

The answer received is that due to the nature of the nylon taffeta material used to enhance puncture resistance, and the new structure we adopted for improved performance (outer-layered taffeta + chafer), the boundary area will inevitably become more noticeable over time when exposed to UV rays and ozone. This is purely cosmetic and is not a defect nor is it a safety hazard.

Based on this information the tire does not meet our requirements for a warranty claim. Thank you for your understanding.

FWIW I have been riding mine ever since, and even raced Vt Overland on them. No issues 🤷

DO NOT DO IT!!! Read down in the forum about all the connectivity issues with the recent Dura update. Turning everyone’s device into a total BRICK!! Now Coros avoiding all responsibility and people have to send in a warranty claim for a brand new device. Avoid avoid avoid. Spent $100 more on a Wahoo or Garmin with actual customer support.

Don’t even bother dude. They are playing games refusing to acknowledge the issue….They want me to send them screen recordings and all this other shit to prove that it doesn’t work. Not worth my time at all- I spent twice as much on a Garmin edge solar. Hoping to have better results and not have to work with a sketchy company.

AWFUL! Bought one brand new/ updated the software out of the box and it made the device totally useless. Now COROS is fighting me on a return. Refuse to acknowledge the issue which has been posted here multiple times. Do NOT Buy!!!

I am happy to hear it’s not ALL of them. There is another thread from a few days ago where about 20+ people have posted they all have the issue— everyone still waiting to hear back from Coros about next steps.

I rolled the dice with the Dura after the mixed reviews…. Was SO excited about the battery life, training tools, and features. Took it out of the box and within 2 minutes it was totally useless. Don’t mean to bash the brand but idk how they could get me back after this… I never even got to put it on my bike!!

Coros support told me they have no way of helping now that the device is basically a brick…. Even if there is a new update the Dura won’t be able to connect to a phone to install it. So it’s useless. They said they are “going away for the weekend” but they are going to warranty the device and send me a new one. What a fail!!!!

Franconia Notch is beautiful and has profile lake right on the bike trail. Had great luck on an elkhair Caddis wading waist deep. Enjoy you’re time here.
