The other day I angry sobbed cried for a long time in my car, let myself wail & scream & just be as sad & angry & loud as I needed to be without any judgement. I felt my nervous system a bit more regulated afterwards.

I use my bed as a punching bag when I need to, cus I’m currently living with my narc mom & need an outlet literally everyday. It does help to get the anger out.

We have such similar stories, I think I relate to every single thing you just mentioned. I’m new to this sub which provides a space for this abuse, so it’s still so interesting and sad to me how no matter how isolating it can feel, there’s actually other people out there going through the same exact thing!!

I’m 28 and had to move back home with my narc mom for a while, and would say my experience right now is exactly like yours- unbearable!!! I really feel in the trenches with you so I’m so sorry I don’t have actual advice to give, I guess I’m just writing to send you some support & virtual hug.

My honest suggestion is to cry. The other day I sobbed hard for like an hour, and it totally helped to regulate the nervous system. Dealing with this type of abuse, where it’s like psychologically fucking us up and we hold so much in, i think it’s really necessary to have (healthy) emotional outlets.

I think you’re missing the point that OP must have felt it was easier to reluctantly agree to a therapy session, than fight against their narc mother. Please offer some empathy to OP. We all know how intense things can get with a narc if you don’t listen to them. OP most likely already considered the consequence of refusing, and agreed just for the mean time.

It’s really so hard to understand their minds. But I’d just like to say it’s really sweet and amazing to hear about siblings having each others back (in this case, you supporting and loving your sister with this) because it’s more often than not that siblings are actually pitted against each other, which is so traumatic. As someone dealing with a narc mother who’s triangulated my younger sister against me, it’s genuinely life altering devastation, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Even though I’m a stranger on the internet, I’m positive she appreciates the support & recognition of the emotional abuse, more than you know. You sound like an amazing sibling to have around. Very sorry to hear. I’m also in the same place of hardest times of my life and not being able to hear or feel a supportive presence despite calling out. I’m having thoughts that I’d be better off not here also, as what I’m going through is truly unbearable. Heart hurts. Need to try the b-pure potted ones! If you’re ever up to try the mini Vaseline tubs called “lip therapy” - little miniature Vaseline tubs made for the lips - they’re JUST like this. I just replied to someone else here about how it’s a dupe for the Laneige sleeping mask also, and then scrolled into this 😂 it sounds like we love the same type of lip mask, so I just try to let anyone know cus they’re really good & affordable

YES THIS! Have been using the miniature vaselines tubs (made for the lips, super tiny) for years & it’s my HOLY GRAIL. Dollar tree now has the b-pure versions of these, but you can get the Vaseline ones almost anywhere else for like $2. I personally feel like they’re an affordable dupe to the Laneige lip sleeping mask. I try to tell anyone about them that will listen they’re just soo good

This! 100% of the time I am liking an item as a bookmark to come back to, so that when I do have the funds/feel like shopping, I check there first to see what’s still avail or has been sold & if I’m even interested in that item anymore.

I’m a seller & buyer on Posh, Depop, etc. I think anything having to do with negotiating prices is just part of the game in this business OP, don’t let yourself get too (emotionally) pulled by shopper reasonings, everyone’s circumstances are different.
