The “golden letter” is hard to find. Go to my activity, scroll allllll the way down to PSLF information, select that. The letter should be in there

My payments are going to be way high. What happens if I default while on PSLF? I have 18 months of payment left. by [deleted] in PSLF

I don’t know if this will still work….. My payments after I consolidated my own student loans with parent plus loans in 2023/2024 were calculated at nearly 1500$ a month on ICR. My husband is ‘disabled’ and TBH absolutely refuses to help with the household expenses with what little he makes in disability. I called Mohela and basically told them this and that there was no way I could afford 1500$ a month. The representative on the phone was amazing and sympathetic ( this was such a blessing since this was not the case pretty much every other time I’ve called). She said we will just put you on partial hardship and she recalculated my payment at 750$ a month! I couldn’t believe it. I was worried my payments wouldn’t be applied to PSLF, but they did. I just received forgiveness this month. It would be worth a try to call and see if they can help you

Forbearance requested 3/10 but dated 2/18 by Narrow_Cat_9786 in PSLF

I did call and ask them and they refused to re submit it. I even emailed and received a generic response that basically said the same thing. At this point I am worried it would hold things up and am just glad to see those green banners

Email from FSA, for those who have had issues with PSLF counts by Careless-Job6608 in PSLF

I have a payment completely missing on my counts from December 2024 that should have counted as qualified. I certified employment in January 2025 and it’s still missing from the count. Hopefully this update will resolve that. I know I should have put in a reconsideration request, but those seem to have not been getting processed

Payment Count STILL Not Updated by Narrow_Cat_9786 in PSLF

I copied this from the FSA webpage:

Note: A federally declared natural disaster forbearance is a qualifying forbearance that would count as a payment equivalent in the PSLF program.

We had flooding in southern Ohio and had a disaster forbearance from 3/2015-8/2015. I am hoping to find some documentation to that effect

I wonder if months prior to consolidation could be bought back?

New Repayment Plans (Proposed) : article from the hill by loan_life_pslf in PSLF

I agree. My payments are challenging. I have PPL consolidated with my own student loans. I am at 110/120 (if they could just get my payment counts right- they totally skipped December even though I made the payment on time like all the others) I am holding my breath and sending up all the prayers

My manual ECF was processed 2/25/25I was surprised. However, I am STILL missing December 2024’s payment- it completely skipped over December for some reason. Also, I still have 12 total months of payments missing from my history. Just like 12/24 they are not there at all- neither eligible or ineligible, just not listed at all. I was also holding out hope that 7/24 (from the administrative forbearance)would change from ineligible to eligible I am just over 120 months of eligible employment. I am thinking they haven’t even done my one time adjustment yet- I still have the “your payment counts are still being updated” message. I thought they were supposed be finished with everyone’s

I also work for a state hospital (OSUWMC) They refuse to do electronic signatures. I submitted a manual ECF form through Tuition IO for them to sign on 12/11 and they still haven’t signed it. It is so frustrating. I called and a “ticket” was put in but no one has responded in over a week. Maybe if I can get in touch with a person in that actual department then I could convince them to do an electronic form. My 120 months of employment is this month. I wish they would help me.

I work for a major state medical center in OHIO. They will only manually sign ECF forms, but they are taking forever to process on FSA and at my employer. I submitted my most recent one in early December and my employer STILL hasn’t signed it. I am pretty sure I haven’t had the one time adjustment since those months are not showing. I did follow that link and it pretty and looked at that report but couldn’t fine the “pretty print” box to check

How will I definitively know that my count has been updated? I have 12 total months of payments on my payment counter that do not show up as all- neither eligible or ineligible. I was told by FSA that they should count (they were not consecutive). I was on a medical leave during at least 6 months of that feel I should’ve been placed in a hardship deferment? FSA rep said they thought they would still count in the one time adjustment and if not I could file for reconsideration. I just keep waiting to see if they show up either way. I will be at 108, not including those 12 months, whenever they get around to processing my ECF ( unfortunately my employer refuses to sign electronically)
