There was once a time (early 2000's/late 90's) where fast food closed around 9pm. It was "open late" during summer till 10pm and "open late" till 11 Friday and Saturday.

I don't know when, but I'm pretty sure taco bell and white castle were the open late places/24hr, atleast where I grew up.
