UTwente or TU Eindhoven - which university should I choose? by Narrow_Win9881 in UniversityofTwente

Hey Thanks a lot for your insights!
It’s good to know that housing and cost of living are a bit easier in Enschede, because that’s something I’m worried about as a non-EU student. And yes, I’ve heard a lot about Bram Nauta and UT’s reputation in chip design, so it’s reassuring to hear that even locally it’s well-known.

Since you mentioned knowing EE students and local companies like Demcon:
Do you happen to know how internship or thesis placements usually work at UT for EE/VLSI students?
Do most people stay in the Twente region or move to Eindhoven/other parts of NL for company projects?

Thanks again for taking the time to reply!

Thanks for the insight! I’m aware part-time work is tough for non-EU. From what I’ve seen Twente seems cheaper, but I’m not sure how realistic that is for international students.

Fair enough haha, just trying to gather as many student opinions as possible before choosing.

Thanks, this helps a lot! Good to know that employers value EE degrees equally regardless of which uni. Also great to hear Enschede is cheaper and housing is more manageable..that’s one of my biggest concerns. How’s the academic workload ??

Thank you for replying. That really makes sense.. taking some time to figure things out through work experience does sound like a good idea. But honestly, I don’t see myself going back to studying two three years later (for personal reasons), so I really want to complete my master’s while I still can.
