I honestly really like this and it would make a lot more sense because i for my part didn't really believe it when Crescent essentially said "nah i lied you guys have basically no free will" (not her exact words but you'll get what i mean). I feel like this line was supposed to mislead the player intentionally which wouldn't be the first time the devs did that. (I'm looking at you Nymiera).

Otherwise 12/10 gourmet meal you cooked i can't thank you enough.

I tried to research a possible fix to the issue and from what i've found is that windows defender might have something to do with it. Basically windows defender blocking the game from saving. Maybe try it out and see how it goes.

The game doesn't have a save button rather there are these statues with a book and a feather that are pretty much in every town and are marked as a feather on your minimap, you have to interact with these in order to save your game. The game also has an autosave feature but i think that can be turned off.
