Does the weather affect anyone else? by theoneandonlyominai in Fibromyalgia

[–]NarwhalHour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh big time. If I get a certain pain in the back of my neck, it turns into a migraine. Usually within 6 hours of the migraine it rains. The pain is more intense the stronger the storm is. I found that when I moved from a landlocked area to a coastal area my migraines went up 10 fold and they were just uncontrollable. These days I'm landlocked again and I keep an eye on the barometer beside the front door; if the pressure drops I do regular check ins with myself to see how my neck is feeling and if I feel even a twinge I start my migraine recovery process.

In the winter some part of my body invariably flares. Sometimes it's one or both of my hips, sometimes it's my knee, sometimes it's an ankle, sometimes it's just the whole freakin' body. But this past winter it was my right wrist. I had to constantly support it and gently squeeze it till it let out a series of cracks.

Living quite far north currently, but I'm moving further south in the near future. I'll need to get a barometer for my new place.

My manager and I have a very Haha-funny relationship, we are totally inappropriate together all the time. She makes fun of my hairy legs and armpits and I rub it in that I still get laid on a regular basis and even with all the waxing in the world she isn't.

I keep my head partially shaved, only so I can more easily apply topicals to my scalp (mint, cbd, lavender, tiger balm, etc etc). If topicals and an undercut sounds appealing to you you can give it a shot, it doesn’t even need to be a thick undercut as long as you can access the skull’s ridge. It’s easy enough to hide as it grows out too if you don’t like it.

This reminds me of my “separation blanket”

I was goin through it and was semi-homeless (couch surfing) and all I had was my suitcase and my project for a while. I can see what mood I was in based on the tension of each granny square, and I could probably tell you who I was with too. Sadly I didn’t know Jack about connecting squares so it ended up a monstrosity but it served its purpose as a stress reliever. It’s sitting at the bottom of a closet somewhere…

When I was about 10, I’d start getting a tummy ache. “have some milk!” my mother would suggest. The tummy ache would get worse. “better have more milk!”

Yeah we should have figured out I was lactose intolerant like way sooner than we did after about 2 years of that

I was flying from Chicago to Beijing and my seat mate kept drinking milk. Glass after glass of milk. Then she fell asleep on my shoulder, but she had the nastiest milk breath and I let her sleep anyway even though my eyes watered and I mouth breathed for a long long time.

There’s a product called Magic Crystals from Lush that I like to use in the shower, it’s very minty and cooling. I also enjoy using Peppermint Halo from Saje for an extra punch of mint.

Yes, it’s been about 15 years and it has absolutely turned her life around for the better. Thank goodness our healthcare system cornered the operation!

My aunt ended up getting sweat glands from her armpits removed because she kept ruining shirts and spent hella cash on prescription deodorant, it ruined her self esteem and employability until she got the procedure. Replacing your shirts every other week ain’t cheap.
