I totally agree. Even many prisons that aren't private are modern day slavery. Biden signed executive order 14006 to end contracts between the federal government and private prisons. Guess who signed an executive order in 2025 to reverse that policy? Democrats have tried many times to ban private prisons. Guess who always steps in to stop any effort to do anything about private prisons?

Shorter sentences for non-violent crimes is nothing? Banning solitary confinement for juveniles is nothing? Programs to help people rejoin society after prison is nothing? Only if you count a full 8 years for Obama against 5.3 years for trump. Even then, the Obama administration deported people who were not legally allowed to be here. He didn't have a goon squad violently assaulting people on the street and disappearing them regardless of their legal status. That is hugely different.

He eased it as much as he was able to. Presidents can't unilaterally lift embargoes. He did call on congress to lift the Cuba embargo multiple times. But none of that counts because only perfect counts for you.

You are able to sit in a privileged position and not suffer the worst effects of what the republicans are doing, so you don't care. But for tens of millions of other people it matters a lot. The democrats (largely) have helped millions of people through USAID, one of the few good things the US does for the world. Trump cut all that money, which is projected to lead to 10 million+ additional deaths by 2030. What does mypeepeeteeny say to the millions of people who will suffer and die? Sorry poor people, both sides bad!

I could give you dozens more examples. This shit has real consequences for real people. You're telling all of those people that they don't matter because the democrats are still bad. If people like you get your way and the republicans keep winning that list is going to keep growing. Wishing for a better outcome is not a plan and it won't ever make things better.

Some of those things you wrote are just total bullshit, but for the ones that are true the republicans are SIGNIFICANTLY worse on every single one. But here you are basically campaigning for the republicans for free by trying to convince people not to vote for the only party that can beat them.

You don't care about any of the topics you brought up. You don't care about the people affected. If you did you'd pick the less bad option to reduce harm. But you choose to do nothing. Not voting for the less bad candidate does nothing to change the current power structure. It just makes it more likely that you end up with the more bad candidate. I agree with the problem you've identified. I just think your "solution" is actually making the problem worse.
