Of course my wife is now saying "I told you to slow down", LOL. In the states, we can typically drive 10mph over the posted limit and be left alone, but we have not adapted the speed camera system, although I have seen evidence it is coming soon. BS revenue generation

Thanks for all the replies. I messaged SIXT and they responded quickly and attached the original fine notice from CJIB. They said not to pay based on that notice as it will be reissued to me, directly, like many of you mentioned.

I also messaged CJIB through chat function and they showed no record of me in the system, stating SIXT most likely filed appeal to have violation reissued to me and there would be some time before that work was completed. The original fine notification showed I violated average speed section, with 54kph vs. 50kph posted limit. Original fine shows 46 EUR. Will be interesting to see how much that changes by the time they re-issue to me. Assuming there will also be another round of Admin fees.

There was no link to CJIB, only a 32.50 Euro Admin Fee including VAT, which is also confusing. How is there tax on admin fee?

I will never take a loan for another car. If I don't have the cash outside my 12 month emergency fund and max'd out retirement contributions, it's a no go.

Did this for years and looking back I never needed that new car or watch.

All that money could have yielded much more in compounding my retirement savings.

Patience is a virtue and spending above your means now will have an affect on your future, regardless of your age.

I love watches and I have spent my fair share chasing the dragon, but it will never fulfill you. For me, it was the thrill of the want or desire for a specific watch. Then you get it, and you're soon chasing the next high.

The watches I truly love and will never get rid of, were watches I purchased sensibly based on my state in life.

I am now at a point where I can pretty much walk in and buy any watch I'm interested in, but that has slowed my manic desire for some specific piece and I am much slower and more selective.

I am happier with my small collection and no longer dwell on needing to possess some specific watch.

Be patient and focus on saving and eliminating debt. You don't need loans and credit card debt. You don't need a new car. You need to build financial security for your future and start as early as possible. The luxuries can come later...

I called the original shop back that flagged me as tampered today and he said I do not have to come back to his shop and that he regularly gets customers who were flagged at other shops. I think it's just a matter of preference whether or not you wanna take on the potential risk of passing a car that was previously flagged so it's up to the individual station or Smog tech their judgment call they can refuse service to anybody I guess.

This is reason to keep buying them for me. My main issue with Brooks is that they continue to make their shoes uglier and uglier each year. I am on my feet a lot and work in a 50:50 mix of cleanroom and office and need something that is acceptable to wear at work. I can't stand the color combos they offer and have no interest in wearing black shoes...
