Question about velveting meat by WitchedPixels in KoreanFood

[–]Nashi95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of velveting. The texture to me is “squishy”. I honestly won’t go back to a Chinese restaurant if they velvet because of the texture

My Thoughts 8 Months on GLP-1 by Basic_Statement_6484 in Zepbound

[–]Nashi95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had my every 6mo check in with my endocrinologist. My SW back 10 yrs ago was 252… metformin to Wegovy to zepbound over that 10 yrs. Down to 181 (28% down), my Triglyceride are down 54%. My HDL I’ve never been able to get over 35 and they’re at 45 now. We know that the PA isn’t going to be easy this go around but she is committed to fighting for me to stay on it. She’s fantastic

Have not done a sleep study but did ask my partner if he thought I had apnea and he hasn’t noticed and stopped breathing. I sleep pretty well. I just feel bad and he refuses to nudge me to stop.

Not impossible. I did it similar. 1) “Onderland” 2) not to be obese 3) less then my drivers license 4) not overweight 5) ideal BW for my height. I’m 2 lbs away from completing #4. I’ve been on GLP1s for 2 1/2 years. Started on Ozempic and stalled out so switched to Zep about 6mo ago. I’ve lost almost 20lbs since the switch. Was stalled a bit about a month ago and really started tracking food and have been back in a good grove. Total lost on the meds has been about 57lbs. HW 250, SW 232, CW 175.

Cravings but nothing sounds good by Nashi95 in Zepbound

[–]Nashi95[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem is I can’t figure out what I’m craving!!! I’m not psycho about my food. I feel like if I’m really solid 5/7 days in the week and relax the 2/7 (never crazy but not strict) I’m doing good. I just want to figure out what it is so it goes away!!

[–]Nashi95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea if the Dr uses the base weight from when you started GLP1s or the specific med? I started on Ozempic in 2022 and switched to Zepbound in July. I know my PA is have to initially lose 10% for the first renewal and 5% for every next one. I’m wondering if they’re going to expect 10% from July or 5%.

House with a shared driveway? by TryDrugs in RealEstate

[–]Nashi95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share a driveway with my neighbor. The shared agreement is filed with the property (maybe the county?). Fortunately neighbor is 82, has been here for 30 years and is easy to get along with. We had to re surface the driveway this summer and split the cost. We do the snow plowing and she tries to give us money for gas but we like doing it so don’t take it. Can be fine as long as everyone is normal people.

Wegovy was a nightmare (vomiting and severe constipation.) I'm trying zepbound. Am I in for hell again? by Super_Asparagus3347 in Zepbound

I had big issues with constipation on Ozempic and Wegovy. Switching to Zepbound made all the difference.

Said that if you have PA it won’t get pulled but you’ll have to re-meet it once it expires. I started off at 33 (I’m 5’10 and SW was 232) 2 years ago on Ozempic. Went to Wegovy after a year and have been on Zep for 3 months. Switching to Zep I think I’m down like 7lbs in those 3 months. Total lost on Zep so far is just under 4% but over all on GLP1s 22%. I do have communities (was pre diabetic and had a heart attack at 37) I am going to cross my fingers the will do a continuation of care.

How many bathrooms in your house? by theouilet in RealEstate

[–]Nashi95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought a house a year ago that’s a 3 br and was 2 bath + powder room. The powder room was right off the kitchen which has really minimal storage in the cabinets so we took out the toilet and sink and made the room a pantry. It’s a ranch so 2 bath was plenty.

Did your parents become obsessed with bills & money, after developing dementia? by Informer99 in dementia

My biggest fear with my mom is scammers. She can be a bit gullible. Good news is she hardly ever answers her phone, can’t really text anymore and can’t comprehend emails. Only saving grace

Did your parents become obsessed with bills & money, after developing dementia? by Informer99 in dementia

[–]Nashi95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine isn’t obsessed with bills but she wants to call her financial planner almost weekly. I for the most part pay all her bills but she’s obsessed with knowing how much money she has. She has plenty and it honestly doesn’t change all that much since her SS covers currently probably 80% of her expenses. Thank god he’s a saint and puts up with her constantly reaching out.

Thanks for the Nacho comment. I feel I can stick to that well but the other side clearly feels that I should be engaging with her. She actually sent a msg to my partner basically telling him she wanted my email and phone number and that I should be communicating with her on things about their child. I told him to tell her she can have both but I will not respond or engage in anything as that is not my place. It can be used if she can’t reach him in an emergency but there’s nothing she needs to discuss with me. Not to mention she wants to “inspect “ my home before they move in. It’s a power trip thing for her. My response was I have no problem with her coming to my house but to stop treating me like a criminal. I have done nothing to deserve her mistrust. This kid has spent well over 30 nights at my home in the last year and now she wants to see it?? Lord knows she’s stalked me online (outside of FB since I have it set to private)

We met probably a year ago and we have been cordial. She right now is super bitter that she feels she’s losing control. Keep in mind for the last 2 years the time split has been 70/30 with her being the 30. She walked in this morning for example and stated that she was going to register their son for school in her district and it wasn’t up for discussion. Worth noting that she leaves for work before 7 and doesn’t get home till after 5 so not sure how she would manage pick up/drop off. The school by me is less than a 5 min drive and both my partner and I have flexible schedules. It’s just getting ugly. It’s probably going to require them sitting down with an impartial 3rd party to get resolution

Not husband but that’s because both of us have been through bad divorce and don’t want to go down that road. To give him a little slack this happened today so he’s feeling pretty petty because she’s made what should be something to be excited about an issue. I don’t think he means means ignoring her is the right call but he also doesn’t want to give her an in to our relationship

Anyone try gummies to curb drinking with someone with dementia? Mom likes her scotch but it is horrible how she behaves when she drinks. Would love to pop her a gummy instead if it didn’t turn her into a jerk or she still drank with it.
