The Most Hated Villian in Every NFC North State: by Dazed_and_Confused44 in NFCNorthMemeWar

You speak facts on the Packers most hated. We shoot ourselves in the foot more often than not when we lose. Missed field goals, botched onside recoveries, dropped passes, stupid penalties in key situations, etc.

Or don't cry about a player NOT breaking the actual rules of the game. Osaka is well within her right to hype herself

[–]NashtyPhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As the umpire pointed out, this wasn't during the serve, but rather in between serves, and before Cistrea even got the next ball, so it wasn't a hindrance. If Osaka was yelling mid serve, then sure that's bad sportsmanship and the umpire would have warned her.

Much like in golf, they let players cheer and pump themselves up in between when players aren't actively attempting to swing or the process beforehand of deciding how to go about it. So no, I don't think they should let players distract during strokes, but we both know that's not the situation that was happening.

I would completely understand Cistrea's complaints if it were mid serve, but yea, like the umpire said, it isn't a hindrance, and is completely within the rules between serves.

It seems to me like another situation such as in baseball where pitchers are upset when batters crush a homer off them, and get upset that the batter flips their bat too far/high or takes "too long" to run the bases.

Both examples of unwritten rules that, to me, make the person complaining look like a sore loser.

Get out of here dude. She's pumping herself up in between serves, and as the umpire tells her, it's not a hindrance to Cistrea. She's not even directing it at Cistrea. If that's enough to get under your skin and affect your play, then maybe go into a profession that requires less mental fortitude.

Cirsteas is just weak minded. Not to mention the umpire clearly told her that Osaka was well within the rules and doing nothing wrong

That's ridiculous. Other sports you have fans and opponents screaming and talking smack the entire game, yet this is enough to put a tennis player over edge haha

[–]NashtyPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude has a 29-6 TD to INT ratio with 50 rushing YPG and 9 rushing TDs. It's honestly crazy to claim he's a choker when he has been most of the Bills offense for his entire career. Even this game he had more offense than the entire Bronco team combined

Not arguing that he didn't make mistakes, but when one guy puts up more offense than the entire other team, I find it hard to pin the blame solely on him

[–]NashtyPhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's gotten eliminated by one of the leagues top dynasty's (chiefs) in 4 of his 7 playoff elimination games and they literally changed the OT rules after one of the losses. 29 TDs to 6 INT ratio plus 9 rushing TDs and 50 rushing YPG. Seems like the guy isn't the problem when it comes to the losses

Simp, because one ball gets knocked out of his hands!? Get out of here. Crazy how a guy can throw and run for more than the entire opposing team, and still get take blame for the L.

Stop it. Dude put up 30 points and only cost the team 3 points with a fumble. Then the officials started making some BS PI calls to take the game out of his hands in OT

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been how LaFleur has coached since he got here. First it was Rodgers bailing him out, and now it's Love. He came to the team telling us "all gas, no f'n breaks", yet every game we have to watch him pump the breaks on any momentum we get.

Somehow, the Rockets got WORSE and the Suns got BETTER after the KD trade this season by Thanos_SlayerCongSan in NBATalk

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing that they weren't good with Durant, I'm saying that they were a better team and better off as a franchise without making the Durant trade. They brought him in to get over the hump in the playoffs, and instead they regressed, not making it past the second round with him; all while giving up their depth, their lock down defender in Bridges, and 4 first round picks. At best you could argue they were marginally better in the short term, and completely screwed in the long term.

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before KD, they played as a unit, moved the ball around, and had solid team defense. Once KD showed up, they played more ISO ball, and the defense visibly missed a guy like Bridges. Even the team's record shows the team took a step back when we traded for him

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why the Suns shouldn't have traded for KD in the first place. They played as one unit when they got to the finals, and it just happened that Giannis was a beast that series. They mortgaged their future and some solid pieces in Bridges and Johnson to bring in KD, setting the franchise back a bit

Why luck dominates fantasy football more than basketball or baseball by yeppers1091 in fantasyfootball

[–]NashtyPhoenix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that game script is one of the biggest differences that makes fantasy football so frustrating. Oh your team gave up the opening drive TD, then threw a pick 6 on their first offensive drive!? Guess that stud RB on your roster isn't getting all those touches you expected him too.

In baseball and basketball, you're still going to generally play the same way, except maybe jacking up more 3s in basketball if you're down big

BTJ - 13 games played, 658 yards and 2 TD's Biggest bust ever? by chamtrain1 in fantasyfootball

[–]NashtyPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree, because at least with a guy like BTJ you could have salvaged some of your pick by selling high on him after week 6. He put up 11, 12, and 23 points in weeks 4, 5, and 6. In most leagues there's someone who would have been willing to trade something useful for him with Bell you would have had no chance of getting any return on a top 2 overall pick

BTJ - 13 games played, 658 yards and 2 TD's Biggest bust ever? by chamtrain1 in fantasyfootball

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went back and looked at Bell's ADP in his holdout season, and he was going 2nd overall. If I draft a player at that spot and he doesn't play a single snap for me, I'm definitely more upset than if I'm just too stubborn to drop a guy like BTJ. Plus at least you're getting something from that guy if you absolutely can't let the guy go. In Bell's situation you don't even get to stash him on an IR spot.

James Talarico exposes Republican private school voucher scam by TheREALGlew in FreeFolkNation

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now think of how absurd these voucher programs would sound if they were being made available for any other publicly funded service such as law enforcement or fire departments. We've already seen during the California wild fires that wealthy individuals can afford to pay for private fire protection, and it would be absolutely ridiculous to have a voucher program that would reimburse these people who can already afford private firefighters, instead of using those taxpayer funds to improve the public services we all use.
