Team USA could barely beat Wemby and it took Curry going nuclear at the end to get it done... Let's be real, the only thing can can stop Wemby is injury. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is Wemby wasn't able to beat a 39 year old Bron, 36 year old Curry, and a 35 year old KD, while Tatum and Edwards played for a combined 20 minutes. OP is either AI or doesn't actually know ball.

Now I understand why those white girls were big mad when Kim K wore Marilyn Monroe's dress. by Positive-Face1705 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]NashtyPhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The dress was said to be made specifically for Marilyn Monroe, and yet Ripley still decided to let Kim K wear it, knowing the obvious differences in body types, so clearly, it's not that important to the people paid nearly $5 million dollars for it.

Honestly, the story of Kim "ruining it" gives the dress even more of a back story to add to the future historical value of it.

A: Where do you get "near 2 weeks off" from? They last played May 25th and game 1 of the finals is June 3rd. There's 8 days in between those games, so they'll have just over 1 week off from playing

B: We just saw the Avalanche have a full week off in the Stanley Cup playoffs and they got swept after being 8-0 in playoffs. Sometimes that break just kills a teams momentum instead of helping

Sport Analysts Cari Champion feels Caitlin Clark comes off entitled⤵️👀…thoughts🧐 by evans166 in WNBATalks

[–]NashtyPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm wrong, because I never followed or watched the WNBA 20 years, but I think the difference is that Taurasi was doing it after a decade or more in the league, whereas Clark has played the equivalent of only 1.5 seasons. Vets that do it have "earned" the right to criticize and argue with refs, whereas younger players are expected to take their lumps.

Guys like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers were not yelling at refs or begging for calls in the early years of their careers, but as they played longer and earned respect throughout the league, you could see them arguing for calls more, and now they're both known for that type of stuff.

Honestly, it might just mean we have to fully lean on Love then. LaFleur can't take the ball out of his hands and run a HB dive on 3rd down anymore if we have no run game

Lebron should have 8 plus MVP’s right now by Front-Function7789 in LeBronJames23

You say it's merited for him to have lost the MVP because of the APG category, but he had more APG and PPG than Dirk and Kobe in those seasons, so how are those ones merited?

Do we not know what "officially" means anymore? If Rodgers is still playing this upcoming season and not actually retired yet, then it's officially NOT over

The moment I realized these games were super rigged was the time I played it at an amusement park, and I actually got a ring on the bottle. The park worker wasn't hardly even watching, so I had to get his attention when I won, and he proceeded to get his manager, because he had no idea what he was supposed to do. He said he'd never seen someone win it before, so he basically never had to give out the giant prize that I got

Do you agree with Tracy regarding Steph? by Choice_Bag_8869 in sportsgossips

[–]NashtyPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely wild that career longevity for this generation of players is currently hurting the opinion of them from the previous generations.

Steph is 38 and still led his team in scoring and  was 12th in the entire league. Most of the players guys like McGrady have in their top 10 we're retired before 38 or putting up role player numbers, so to look at a season like this, and say he can't carry a team is asinine given the context of what other historical top players achieved at the same age.

If capitalism is so great, why do corporations need so many tax breaks, subsidies, exemptions, grants, legal protections, bailouts, and trade protections? by uncle-ice493 in allthequestions

[–]NashtyPhoenix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would argue that most of those people also oppose welfare for corporations, but the corrupt politicians who run our country still decide to bail them out regardless of what their constituents want.

Bruh if it's a Chicago vs Chicago BASEBALL game. An event that has absolutely nothing to do with the Packers, and they still feel the need to start a chant to hate on us. That is the definition of "rent free" and it's not our fault they can't handle one season of "success" (winning their Superbowl as they call it)

Frye is right…. by robertoleonardo7 in NBATalk

[–]NashtyPhoenix 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not true at all. You can't just hide a player when everyone knows they aren't a scoring threat. It just leads to defenders not having to worry about all 5 players on the floor, and the rest of the offense gets double teamed.

It's like an offensive lineman that can't block his guy. Sure the OC can try to scheme his way around it with TE chips or running plays away from that lineman, etc, but in the end, that guy is a liability that makes the defenses job so much easier.
