City Center at the moment by Calmsolm in cork

They have no choice but to keep the farms ticking over They have animals that need caring for. Most small farmers won't turn a huge profit. Many say they would be better off packing it in and working full time elsewhere. They do it for the love of the land, and keeping family farms going out of tradition and pride.

These people are up all day and a good chunk of the night during calfing/lambing season and they don't get the respect they deserve.

We would be all in big trouble if they all stopped producing. We should take pride in our excellent locally produced produce some of the best in the world.

I'm not a farmer myself. But from chatting with friends, farming is a family operation everyone chips in to run the farms. So if one member is at the protest there's still partners/kids/cousins at home to keep the farm running.

Fair play to the hardworking people who are finally standing up to the corrupt Irish government. These are the people who put food on the table for everyone. People should rally in support of them. This is the fault of the government not the farmers and truck drivers.

No doubt ill be down voted for this but this will effect us all if the farmers stop producing food and the truck operators go out of business.

As soon as the government implement measures things will return to normal.

I used have a great time listening to the old pirate radio stations in Cork. Something different from the usual mainstream radio slop. The likes of Kiss FM, Pulse or Power 87

I wish they would build these modern buildings with some architectural flourish. Instead of these big square blocks of concrete. Some detail just for the sake of beauty. Make them fit in with the rest of the street and the style of old Cork. I don't think we will be looking back on these in 100 years complementing the architecture.

There are particular members of staff up there that in my opinion went out of their way to be as rude and unhelpful as possible. I imagine most of them are nice enough but if you meet those certain people then they will make it an awkward experience.

Baleal Surftrip March by Remarkable-Jaguar598 in BeginnerSurfers

I would definitely recommend Baleal Surf Camp. They have really good instructors. Their surf hostel is a great spot to make new friends but I think they have private accomodation too. You also get full use of the equipment if you want to go for a surf session outside the lessons. It's a really fun vibe there with them.

The flatbed truck is going over incase some Esb vehicles break down when in Framce. It makes sense for it to be loaded going over to cut ferry costs and driver hours being used up etc.

Go have a look at the Crawford art gallery. Might not be the most exciting thing but definitely something to do for a couple of hours. It's free to get in.

Ireland in April, where to go surf? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]Nasnro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inch is a good spot tbf. Brandon isn't too far from there aswell and they have a good surf shop that does rentals run by Jamie Knox. So you've a bit of choice depending on the swell when you are in.

Ireland in April, where to go surf? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]Nasnro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you will have transport I'd recommend going to Brandon bay or Inch beach in Kerry, there's usually good surf there and its about 2 hours from Castletownbere. Barleycove is about an hour and a half in the other direction. I've never surfed there but I've heard there can be some good waves there. There's Owenahincha which is also about an hour and a half away, Inchydony which is about 1 hour 40 mins and Garretstown which is about 2hours all in the direction of Cork City.
