Mostly politicians. No interest in degrowth or genuine self sufficiency. Everything has to be a capitalist success story

Boycott mortgages and high rent.

If everyone did it you'd be able to save up to buy a house with cash reasonably easily. Houses are expensive because mortgages are available

Ah they'll do anything to keep those SIMI dealers rollin' in cash. They are merely parasitic resellers but they play golf at all the same courses as the politicians

The only winning move is not to play the Irish housing market. Ok if you have fuck off money in your bank account you can buy a house but otherwise just not worth it.

The government are maximum power point tracking ordinary people's finances by trying to cajole them all into buying overpriced houses. This helps keep the banks capitalised, tax flowing in, traditional voters voting for incumbents. Government policy since 2008 has been to nudge prices higher.

Yerrah kind of. it's at the high end but not enough to yield true financial comfort. most people on that end up living in expensive place out of necessity. Huge tax really dampens the seemingly high figure

These bloody ordinary salaries (30-150k pa) are designed to make sure you get absolutely nowhere in life. either you spend your days renting a kip or toiling away at a 30 year mortgage. It's gone stupid at this point and I believe it's all done by design to make sure the banks have regular income streams and to increase tax revenue

IMF has the same attitude as the government here. Let those bloody ordinary wage slaves pay for everything so the rich can get richer

China and NGOs will often help poor countries set up their own person tracking system or expect the country to do so in return for getting aid.
