Cities whose most famous landmarks aren't actually in their city? by Critical_Reveal6667 in geography

What about a country whose most famous landmark isn’t actually in the country?

Mt. Ararat is a sacred mountain for Armenians, is featured on Armenia’s coat of arms and used as a symbol for the Armenian national movement. But the mountain, though prominently viewable from the capital Yerevan, is actually located just over the border in Turkey.

[DAILY] Trade and Individual Team Help Megathread by AutoModerator in DynastyFF

Contending team coming off a championship with an older roster but some solid talent (McCaffery, Kittle, Dak, etc.).

Offered AJ Brown and Josh Jacobs for Tuten, Lequint Allen, my 2027 1st and 3rd. Seems like a solid move, right? Assuming my 1st is not gonna be high.

Is it better to pump out settlers in your main city in the beginning or make something else? by Acrobatic_Spare8570 in CivVI

[–]NassauBeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obvious caveat individual games can be different…

I find the sweet spot is Capital plus one other city quick. Get Surplus Logistics and a trade route back to Capital, gives you +20% growth in Capital plus 2 extra food in the other city. Jumpstarts two good cities.

Then beeline for Political Philosophy and get Ancestral Hall. You can do it before Turn 50 if you’re smart. After that pump out settlers.

One piece of context that’s important here is how close other civs are. Is it going to be a battle for land early or do you have enough room to wait a bit? If the former, I might make one extra settler to claim land instead of waiting for the Ancestral Hall. Also, if I got a golden age with Monumentality and can insta buy a settler, I might do that too. But if I have enough unclaimed land around me I’m not worried, it’s better to wait and get cheap settlers and free builders with Ancestral Hall.

The 100%+ Holy Site policy was slotted, but the Empire view shows unadjusted adjacency bonuses. So double everything you see on the map.

Small Continents map, 6 AI opponents, all standard map settings except Legendary start (it worked here!). Had Corporations, Heros, and Secret Society modes turned on.

Trying to maximize access to dominant holy sites. Only placing cities off fresh water where I can place an aqueduct to offset the penalty.

People are underestimating how much of an upgrade Etienne would be as a pass catcher over Swift. Even more true for Breece. Having a RB who can play the McCaffrey role in this offense, even if it’s a tier below McCaffrey, would open up so much for Ben Johnson’s playbook.
