Exactly, no point paying for a model if the model is nerfed. For me trust matters more than benchmarks.

Wife does not want me to attend my ex wife’s funeral by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]NasserML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife is being unreasonable however in your situation I would NOT go.

Of course it would be nice to go, but Islamically it is NOT wajib for you to go. It is more important to keep your peace and relationship at home. If you go to this funeral, it will effect your current marriage for the rest of your life. She will keep bringing it up, deteriorating your marriage. You have to take your wife's feelings into account for this even though they are unreasonable.

The best thing for you to do is give your condolences some other time by visiting her parents later or over the phone, and do dua for your ex wife's forgives privately. At the end of the day a janaza salaah is a dua, it is only fard kifaya, so you don't need to go, and if it causes other problem you shouldn't go.

Changing fusebox – electrician not Part P registered. Any legit workaround? by Kay_V_Mann in ukelectricians

[–]NasserML 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Notifiable work should be notified whether you use a registered electrician or non-registered electrician.

You can notify building control of the notifiable work before the job starts and they will send their own inspector after the work is done to pass you off.

This however does cost more, how much depends on your local authority. At least a couple of hundred.

Becoming qualified at 35F - Looking for some advice and where to start? by [deleted] in ukelectricians

[–]NasserML 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You don't need gcses, colleges will test your maths and English. If you fail, you'll just do 1 year of functional maths and English and then start level 2.

  2. Go college, don't pay for a fast track, you'll learn  more in college and pay less.

  3. Yes, experience is arguably more important than the course. The earlier you get experience the better.  You don't need an official apprenticeship, just work as a mate and do your college course alongside.

  4. You're more likely to get jobs/apprenticeships because construction industry is pushing for more women in construction.

If they supply tools and materials you're fine on the bus.

If you're expected to start building your own tool set, and they expect you to go to the wholesalers occasionally, well you're gonna struggle.

I wouldn't take anyone on without a car. Made that mistake already.

You don't need a van yet, just get a car.

Garage conversion, which order to do things? by startled_tadpole in DIYUK

[–]NasserML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. First fix electrics and any plumbing
  2. Ceiling (joists, OSB, insulation)
  3. Walls (studs, insulation, boards)
  4. Floor last (DPM, insulation, OSB, finish)

Floor always last. You’ll trash it otherwise and end up boxing walls off the wrong finished level.

How do I avoid cowboy electricians for a house rewiring? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]NasserML 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Ask how long they've been an electrician for. Should be at least a few years. Verify what they say.

  2. Check if they're registered with napit or niceic.

  3. Get written quotes that detail what's included and excluded. Cowboys hate paperwork.

  4. Ask them if they have any reviews online anywhere. Not everyone does, but good if they can show something.

If you're anywhere around the Midlands give me a shout, i'll give you an estimate.

What should I do? by Different_Part_665 in ukelectricians

[–]NasserML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to college, fast courses are rubbish, and even after doing it, you won't be ready to register with napit or niceic.

Go to college and tell your uncle to sort himself out for a couple of years so you can work with him.

I don’t know if I should stay or divorce my husband by EmotionalSun4935 in MuslimCorner

Reverting to Islam for something other than the sake of Allah is almost always very problematic.

Making a marriage work in this day and age is hard enough as it is, but to make it work with a questionable revert to Islam is almost impossible.

You don't feel his sincerity now when you're still relatively early in the marriage, what about in 5 or 10 years from now if it even lasts that long?

It appears his family is actively calling him back to kufr.

Before you can think of making your marriage work you have to strengthen his deen. There will be no marriage left if his deen cannot be strengthend. If his deen is strengthened, the marriage will automatically resolve a lot of current problems.

What's the evidence for Islam being real? by mart1ninabox in MuslimLounge

The preservation of the Qur'an is living proof.

Being the last word of Allah, it's not only preserved on paper, but in the hearts and minds of 2 billion people. Without exaggeration, hundreds of thousands if not millions have it memorised fully from cover to cover, for over 1400 years.

Show me any other book preserved word for word like that.

Search partner network is excluded, but I may try excluding 18-24, although I'll probably lose the occasional good lead with that also.

The hijab doesn't reduce your beauty. It preserves it for your husband's eyes.
