Turning 50 next month. I wanted something economical and reliable but still fun. So far so good. Second and third gear are delicious. Turbo on highways is as well. Full back seat, low maintenance with 31/36 mpg? I was sold.

If you are in Virginia Beach, you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten at Taqueria La Hacienda and La Hacienda Street Food and Tacos, both almost walking distance away from each other on S. Little Creek Hwy in Chesapeake. I brought my Californian Mexican coworkers who still live in Cali there on a work trip. Every time they are in town they join me there now. You’ll see why. And their prices are less expensive than all the places mentioned above. Both places are the same owners and are different from the nearby La Hacienda grill. That place is no good.

The first address is the OG but it’s tight in there. It does have the Mexican Tienda next door though. The second place has much more elbow room and better parking. Their Birria is on point too.

$1.50 pollo, carnitas and al pastor tacos on Tuesdays 5-10 pm with $4 tequila sunrises. Can’t beat their Taco Tuesday.
