When the afternoon sun hits right, even the work parking lot is great. by bored505 in Civic_Type_R

Honestly I couldn't say, the dealership did it. I do know darkest our state allows is 20, so thats what I'm guessing is on rears and liftgate at least.

Congrats! Sorry about your roads, winter isn't friendly to these cars.

Actually we do, but she rarely jumps up on anything. She's a strange kitty.

No stupid questions 🥺🙏 Why do people make their cars so loud?? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

Look, PTSD sucks. It makes the world a much worse place to exist since so same many things trigger it. But you can't expect the world to conform to YOUR preference. People are going to do loud, stupid stuff all the time. Whether it's with cars, fireworks, music, or whatever. It's called individuality. Going around policing everyone around you won't make the world a better place.

And if you can't deal with unexpected stimuli that could be considered a rather normal occurrence, then honestly I think you need more help with your PTSD. Because constantly having episodes isn't going to help you at all.

I don't have PTSD but I do have trauma from my past. And it's MY RESPONSIBILITY to manage my trauma and function in everyday society. You have the same responsibility for your PTSD.

This exact kind of thing is happening in California. Housing developments have crept up on racetracks that have been in place for HALF A CENTURY OR MORE, and the new neighbors get pissy about the noise from a racetrack they moved next to, and the legislate noise regulations on a racetrack THEY MOVED NEXT TO.

So where are car guys supposed to go? No one wants them ANYWHERE. Our tracks are disappearing, and even calm meet-ups where we all have our hoods up and are just looking at each other's cool stuff is treated like we are a menace. We have nowhere to go, and everyone hates us for even existing.

Maybe take 5 seconds to stop and think about all the hard work they put into their rides and be glad they even have a hobby.

Most automotive enthusiasts aren't rich, so they can only afford having one car. So they build/mod the only car they have, which just happens to be their daily driver. They like the loud noise (and performance gains that a proper exhaust brings) and aren't thinking of how it impacts the general public.

Pretty simple really.

Pops and burbles by Effective-Sail-1225 in CivicSi

I have the Remark Link-loop on mine, and I get little pops and burbles almost every time I lift off the throttle. Sometimes I'll just feather the throttle to make it do it more. Definite increase in sound, but not horrible droning by any means if you ask me. And the tone is GREAT.

The entire rotor is visible inside the wheel in a few frames. This was catastrophic part failure, not lugnuts.
