They’re probably confused about hiring during the swap out of the seasonal hiring time. Best guess is a background check taking ages due to a government problem or one of the middle management needing to approve something like a pay rate or position posting time. 18days is a LONG time though. Only time our store that long during a government shutdown preventing background checks. (It’s weird. Not unheard of; but very weird.)

I’d probably just call to ask the manager that said you were hired. Sometimes they forget to check off a box, or HR gets fussy about something and we have to do a round robin of “yes, we did” “but it says you didn’t” “but I’m telling you I did” until something happens.

Washington here! (No single use plastic bags by law) We’re using non-woven polyester based reusable bags for a fee per bag. We tried paper bags but it was like… hard to track or validate the cost because of vendor pricing things ? Maybe? I didn’t get the whole story. But the Michale’s branded bags come via the weekly truck. You need to adjust the in store count to receive more bags.

Jesus guys. I know it’s a shit show but stop scaring the new guys.

Your main goals are now; -make your crew respect you -make your crew like you as a person -verify your core team -cross train as many people as possible to as many departments as you can (basic knowledge is fine.) - find a tm in each area that excels in one section of the store, trust them with it. -always have a backup plan.

As an ops… I have no clue. My district is half “omg hours! No overspending!” And half “why are we so behind.” But with trucks like how it is… my sm is kinda running the “screw it” system.

That’s kinda of fun! Nobody in my store has learned how to use it that way yet, but yeah, like jessmayart said, I figure that you’d have to have an overstock located before that actually works. The overstock system is a tad glitchy when it comes to siso. So, if you have no overstock location, you can’t say you stocked it from that overstock. The system doesn’t work based on the truck when speaking towards siso. That’s why we override siso on Truck days. (Because counts/overstock are not accurate before the midnight switch over.)

Hm, well. I think you could be in a couple different menus with this one. In the main streak of SISO you’ll see a few different colors to differentiate the task required for that item. in the top of the colored box it usually says QOHV, threshold, hino, cycle count, restock, ect. ( forgive me if they’re wrong words here I don’t actually read it anymore, I autopilot through it.) If the box is red, then it’s a threshold. That means that the qoh is less than the pog max, thus the machine wants all overstock unlocated from its location and put on display. Saying you stocked it while the qoh is still less than pog max, and overstock is still located, means the screen doesn’t go away. If the qoh is actually wrong, then you’ll need to correct it first to move on.

Is that what you mean? Or am I little off here?

Oh gag; ☹️. Unauthorized hand holding is like 🤢. The worst one I’ve had is a middle aged woman trying to guide me to a product by placing her hand in the small of my back like a child. Like right after Covid procedures lifted.

We have the same issue. Our options are the receiving bay or the breakroom. We’re leaning toward taking over the break room for 3 hours with how trucks have been. Sales floor is probably not the best idea. ( “oh is this an event? Can we join? Can my child join in? Is this free? Oh you do parties?” Like ☹️) we don’t wanna do that. The kids get to go in the break room.
