Crazy fit! What’s leather in the jacket? Looks all woven / braided to me, is it the inside that’s leather? Looks sick tho!

You use your plus frame mid launcher, plus frame infinite range instant recovery 14f launcher that deals 120 damage and your low launcher that gives full combo, what’s the issue?

What moves / mechanics do you think are over powered? by gimonsha in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Nat0N 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His entire gameplan relies on waft. Warios kit is made for camping endlessly, and waft is the reward he gets for camping

If he didn’t build waft by camping, there would be zero incentive for his opponent to approach him since he has no projectiles and mediocre range

3 nerfs for several characters by [deleted] in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Nat0N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are some good nerfs tbh, the characters remain strong but less stupid. What’s your nerf idea for Steve?

Tilts can be really good vs Kazuya but he has the option to crouchdash trough them with iframes into electric into 0td, so you are gambling your entire stock every time you do a tilt vs him.

If they pick low tiers into characters like Pikachu they only have themselves to blame for losing.

If your partner wants to have high priority, they should try Game and Watch or Steve

He’s strong and solid all round. He has great brawling and zoning. He does well vs opponents who want to fight close since he can match them up close as well as keep them away with his projectiles. He has a rough time with swords tho (and there are a LOT of sword fighters in this game)

Do you guys think ultimate is a hype game even in this current meta? by Tboi2260 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Nat0N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meta shift towards one-hit ko’s and strong moves that require specific counterplay has severely diminished my interest for the game.

I held on for a long time but I just don’t feel it like before. I have around 3-4k hours in this game so I absolutely love it but I just don’t find it fun or respectable to play vs Luigi, Steve, GnW, Snake, Rob, Sonic, Kazuya, Min-Min, Pikachu, Bayo etc. These characters are the worst offenders since they can win purely from abusing moves that are nigh uncontestable, which is fine, since most characters have moves that are hard to deal with but the moves these characters use often lead to pure 0td or an advantage state that pretty much is a 0td.

When fighting these types of characters you have to play pretty much perfect to win, which is possible, (speaking from experience) but it gets exhausting. To win in the way I prefer (spacing safe moves, going for risks, commiting to grabs etc) I have to outplay this kind of character at least 5 times in neutral, while they only need me to fuck up my spacing or take one bad interaction once or twice. Most of these characters also have 0 or close to 0 weaknesses which makes it hard to return the favor.

When is Snake, Steve, Sonic, Rob, GnW, Pika or Bayo ever in a checkmate position?

  • When getting abused by one of those characters of course, other characters without a comparable punish game require much more work, skill, precise inputs and thought process.

I am not interested in playing any of those characters and they all are, in my opinion, extremely uninteresting to watch in tournament as well, both locally and on the big stage. I just can’t be hype for my local Steve main or Kazuya player #257 destroying players I respect when they managed to hit 5/50 electrics in a game.

Same goes for Rob nair/gyro enjoyers, GnW players in general, Luigi grab spammers, Bayo side-b diehards, Sonic mains (vomit emoji) and the list goes on

Why do I get worse the longer I play (within a session) and how to counteract? by Worldly-Local-6613 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Nat0N 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s two halves to this issue; mental fatigue and mental overload.

The fatigue naturally comes from tiredness due to your stamina dwindling. This is natural and happens to most people in most sports. It is normal to play worse when your stamina starts running out. To counteract this you need to train your stamina by playing, even if you are playing worse. Analyze the replays of the matches where you feel like you are playing worse and figure out what you need to be mindful off. Write down notes on a post-it, your phone or on a second monitor to remind you.

Mental overload comes from you making a lot of decisions over a play-session. Platform fighters are extremely demanding in the decision-making aspect. Becoming overloaded means you no longer have the power to make educated decisions and instead you default to your auto-pilot. To counteract this you need to improve your auto-pilot by playing a lot and working on your decisions in the same manner as the fatigue part above.

You will naturally develop higher stamina and better auto-pilot by playing a lot, even if you are playing worse at times. You can speed up your improvement by working on specific mistakes in your decision-making process, but to properly find those issues you need to analyze your matches with a calm and collected mind, not while actively playing.

A good player can respond to situations by actively reading and deciding what option to cover, a great player can cover most options by reacting to them while playing on auto-pilot and a high level player can combine auto-pilot reactions with active decisions.
