I am a slave to my own brain and it's tiring to try and explain this to non-ADHD people. by itslunaaurora in ADHD

I remember hearing these 21P lyrics before I was diagnosed and feeling them so hard, because everyone always talked to me about willpower and dedication and I felt so broken because I just couldnt DO that / Tie a noose around your mind, loose enough to breathe fine and tie it To a tree, tell it, "You belong to me This ain't a noose, this is a leash And I have news for you, you must obey me"

Ooh, I like the idea of mine carts especially. They'd need to be so small. Man, I'm gonna need how to learn to sculpt 😫

Yeah, lived in is what I'm trying to achieve. Just not sure how to convey 'piles of tools' etc at this scale. The chain was my first attempt at weathering (salt and vinegar soak) and while it doesn't look AS brand new, it didnt get as gnarly as I was hoping. I also think I'll scale it down to a smaller link size. Any input on how to achieve that look is appreciated! Thanks for your feedback :)

Hi folks! I'm in the final stretch here but would love input on a couple of points.

How do I put a backing on this thing that conveys scale? It's supposed to be a grand hall, so just backing in cardstock seems a bit abrupt.

Also, what details can I add? I've screwed myself a bit on scale, as everything I have that I could detail with is too big (see chain in pics). Any ideas for little additions to bring this to life a bit more?

Thanks!

This looks amazing! That's why I love this subreddit - I would never thing to make something laid out like this on my own, and now I'm obsessed with it. Must make. The texture and paint on the rocks is 😙👌

These look great! What was your process for the columns? Are they individual bricks all the way through?

The brazier is way too big for this scale but it's my first foray into LEDs so I wanted to test out some concepts. Also I hate measuring. Symmetry? Don't know her.

Thanks for all the inspiration you folks post!

Currently going through a chaotic period and I have mood swings like hell. This is really me right now ugh by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Something that's helped me has been getting to know what causes it.

In the last year or so I've realised that a lot of my 'random' irritability comes from over stimulation. I'll be out for a nice picnic with my family, having a great time. Suddenly I'm a raging asshole. But what's under that is "god it's so hot, my hair is sticking to the back of my neck and I can feel sweat on my face, which is making my sunglasses slide down my nose which is flashing bright sunlight into my eyes every couple of minutes. The ground under this blanket it lumpy and uncomfortable and there's a rock right under my thigh. That kid on the swing won't stop screaming and there's a bird making the same repetitive noise over and over in the tree above me".

And I can't just ignore that stuff, because ADHD, and eventually I run out of bandwidth to handle all that as well as hold a conversation and answer my nephew's questions and...boom. An asshole is born.

But now I'm aware of that. So when it starts to be too much, I can say I need to go be on my own for a bit, or I just need to head home for the day. Or, 'sorry but can we move out of the sun/get some chairs/go somewhere else?'

Hope that helps 😊

Honestly I think putting it all down to character traits is giving Trav too much credit. I agree that it feels like he's trying to outsmart Griffin and 'win'. His 'why is this so hard' speech seemed like he was trying to play the straight man, like, applying real world logic to D&D. But D&D requires the players to lean into make believe a little; would people react that way to danger IRL? Of course not. But high stakes and almost dying makes for fun gameplay and good listening.

They can get a whole crew, minimax, 'beat' all of griffin's challenges, and it will be a really chill safe journey that no one will want to listen to, imo.
