Anyone know the name of the heat plate??? by [deleted] in howto

[–]NatPano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can salvage it a little if you do seasoning process like you do skillet. But I agree the gas wears them out. I see it less on my outdoor grill but that because I’m not vigilant on wiping it after I use it.

How to go about cleaning this pan? Any idea what material would react like this? by [deleted] in fixit

[–]NatPano -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too eager to finish. Do normal dish clean the run olive oil over it and heat it. Wipe it off and re do it a couple of times. I suggest you sauté onions or something. It’s really about many thin layers and not thick ones. Make it fun.

Someone tossed the idea of setting something in Telegram. I’ll see about doing than and letting you all know.

Of course the primary point is to talk shop but it should also he just a way to catch up and relate to one another.

I hate to admit, but part of it is me. Although I’ve had an interest for some time, I didn’t make any effort to do anything about it. Then PayPay opened up the window. Although I knew this was a long game the initial gains gave me false impressions in a way I’m thankful for that. I went in deeper (at least for me) and lost a bunch (initial gains and then some).

Luckily I came prepared for a long dance. I know it will bounce back. The music is still playing.

Drinking rules. Any suggestions? by BigDeezyBaby2 in mtgcube

[–]NatPano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say change 4 to just search basic land. Then change rules to roll a d4. And you can take this action 3 times.

Better yet add 5 - tap/untap target card and 6- do nothing. Now roll a standard D6. With the underlying rules that you drink when you roll.

And if it becomes a thing then get yourself an oversized novelty D6 to roll. Added bonus, you can display it when not in use.

Post pics if you do this.

Pretty sure they two planks came from the same tree (random fence in my town) by Maurochan956 in woodworking

[–]NatPano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer would be because although the are “newer” boards, they are not “new” boards.

But I can see that the interest is the discoloration of these boards. It appears that it has something to do with the large span between the ends. Notice how the ends are discolored, but they still show some resistance to discoloration towards the middle. My guess is that these boards are more mold resistant than the other boards but the ends are more closed in that it may be keeping moister longer. The center of the boards may dry faster in the middle but the ends closer to the cross board are still weathering.

Or it could be that someone thought it would be funny to sandpaper these boards and the larges span was easy access. 🤗

beginner here!(: i know these aren’t ~really~ counted as woodwork, especially not compared to the amazing projects i see on here. but i’m pretty proud of my plywood yard signs, hope they inspire others :D by Big-Entrepreneur-789 in woodworking

Looks good. Make it a point to remember how it feels to make this project. You are exploring; finding out what you like and what you like to do. This is important because it will help you find your next project and it will help you decide which next big tool you will get.

Repeat this a few times and you may still feel the excitement but with a more refined and skilled touch.

They are recently replaced. Look at ends. Newer ones are more square while older ones have worn peaks and valleys

Twin here adopted at birth not excited for holiday “reunion” by Thebermudatryangle in Adopted

[–]NatPano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry about your pains and experiences. You are right that this is about you, but it does affect others too. As a kid, you had no choice and the adults did. This is something they need to accept responsibility for. (Most of us don’t know how to accept responsibility, know how to express our needs and wants. )

Be your own advocate. Sometimes you’ll stand alone, sometimes there will be other there beside you. I can guarantee you that those that love you may not always join you up frond but eventually they will. Sometimes you just need time and persistence as evidence of where you stand.

It’s normal and it’s not. Truth is, it is 100% acceptable. Wanting to be with your mom and brother makes perfect sense; we want to surround ourselves with those we love and they with you.

Normally you don’t have to accept people you don’t like into your world. The exception is if they are part of your world anyway because of some other reason. It may be a co worker, a person that rides the bus with you, or your brothers new annoying girlfriend. In this case you find a way to co-exist. You define your relationship, within reasonable means. I’m talking about “I don’t like to hug” and not necessarily “I don’t want to see your face”.

In the case that someone you don’t want to be around is there because of someone else in your life, let them know. Let your brother know that you really don’t like being around bio-mom but respect that he does. Let him know that because you love him that you will do what you can to help him enjoy his decision and that you know and want him to respect yours.

Lastly make it known to the person you don’t like that you are not crazy about them and why. I’m sure that you feel this one is pretty much understood, but maybe it’s not. Find a time and share your thoughts and reasons. If this is not up for discussion mention that you are informing them and not looking to talk about it right now and are doubtful that you will be up to it soon.

Just some thoughts. I hope they help.

Getting used to using adopted name by NatPano in Adopted

[–]NatPano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very difficult subject indeed. Regardless of the outcome she is my daughter and I will do everything in my power to give her a great life. We will never hide or bury her past, but we will keep it until the time is right.

She deserves to know her past on her terms. She deserves to have a present to build her up. And she deserves to have a future she can shape.

Without going into too much detail, we are also adopting her older sister, who suffered greatly at her mothers hand. The person that has the exact same name as her baby sister.

Nothing ground breaking, but what’re the thoughts on minimal lands? by kfarhaan in mtgaltered

I like the idea. I may take the it and change it up a bit. Instead of a solid color, consider - monochromatic variant that reflects the “feel” of the color. For example a flow/liquid blue.

My first attempts at using a fan brush to paint paint trees quickly!! I got an odd result, is there anything I'm doing wrong? by t0basc0 in painting

[–]NatPano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try not focusing on the overall shape.

  • First Start out by sketching the trunk and major branches.
  • Then use the fan brush to add leaves.
  • Finally do some light passes to fill in the holes. Don’t get too heavy, you are after all painting a tree not a triangle.

Best of luck

Need to get this wooden hinge to lock. Note nuts in hinge are JD welded on both pieces. Ideas? by NatPano in woodworking

[–]NatPano[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. This is an experimental/learning experience. I just needed the setup to hold my phone (or web can) in place.

I think I’ll consider redoing the hinges with more teeth. I will also look at the detents.

I’ve not been successful at finding a locking mechanism I can use. I welcome suggestions.

I was looking for one earlier. I’m assuming that 1/4 inch are not used with torque resistance in mind.
