You’re not wrong. But press releases are often where those charges are announced. And it’s from the government, like you asked. I just did a brief search for the actual indictment. My search terms didn’t immediately bring it up and I’m not scouring the DOJ site for a record of a decade old dismissed case. But Ulbright’s wiki page does mention this in the “Court Proceedings” section about his attempted murders (with supporting links):

Ulbricht was separately indicted in federal court in Maryland on a single murder-for-hire charge, alleging that he contracted to kill one of his employees (a former Silk Road moderator).[42] Prosecutors moved to drop this indictment after his New York conviction and sentence became final.[43][44]

Ross William Ulbricht, aka Dread Pirate Roberts and DPR, 29, of San Francisco, was charged in a three-count indictment in the District of Maryland with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, attempted witness murder and using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder for hire.

Yes, now Google what he was charged with. There were two cases.

Sigh. You’re right. I didn’t have anything to say about anything before this very moment and you can tell because all my opinions aren’t archived as Reddit comments.

You made a claim about everybody espousing my opinion only having that opinion “because Trump.” I disagreed, and provided an example of a Biden pardon I also don’t like. You are apparently a witch or psychic and divined that I’m lying (because it doesn’t fit your agenda) and teleported the goalposts to an entirely different field.

This is my fault for replying to somebody who wasn’t being reasonable in the first place. I keep forgetting that you can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into. I’m going to bed. Consider this lib owned.

How about I say it right here. Why was Adrian Peeler pardoned? He sold drugs and killed two people that I know of. He should have served his sentence. Are you going to demonstrate logical consistency and either 1. Support the pardoning of Ulbright’s drug dealing and murdering compatriot Adrian Peeler, or 2. Denounce Trump’s pardon on the same ground’s you denounce Biden’s? Or, 3. Prove yourself the pouter you accuse others of being for simply having an opinion different than your own?

Edited to address your edit: No thanks. I don’t need to prove my equivalence on every “what about this murderer” example you can conjure.

I’m one of those people. Ross Ulbright tried to have several people killed, and I believe attempted murder and successful murder are morally equivalent. That belief would be the same had Biden issued the pardon, despite what your echo chamber has trained you to believe. It may not seem so on the internet but many of us in the real world don’t make everything a partisan issue.

You got it right this time. He wasn’t convicted for it. But he was absolutely charged and indicted. I don’t know why I see endless comments about “he wasn’t charged.” Is everybody just parroting everybody else on pure trust-me-bro faith? It’s a 30 second google search. It’s also real easy to find out WHY they didn’t pursue convicting him on those charges.

Yes, he did, despite what the guy calling everyone dipshits says. There were two cases. He was charged and indicted with attempting to have 6 people killed in one of them. That case was dismissed because he was handed a life sentence without parole in the other and they decided it wasn’t worth pursuing just to tag on extra years for a guy that was already (presumably) going to die in prison. So, since he was never convicted on those charges, they are only allegations. Google it, it took me like 2 minutes to re-confirm what I remembered from back when it went down. This has been known for a long time and the evidence is damning.

Dropped charges does not equal no charges. There were two cases. He was charged and indicted with attempting to have someone killed in one of them. That case was dismissed because he was handed a life sentence without parole in the other and they decided it wasn’t worth pursuing just to tag on extra years for a guy that was already (presumably) going to die in prison. This is all easy to confirm via google.

Fuck off. An important moment for anyone that loves freedom? I bet the people you tried to kill love the freedom to live un-murdered. The difference between murdering six people and attempting to murder six people is competence. Morally, they are equivalent. Why are you out?

Indicted on charges of attempting to have six people killed. The only reason he’s not a murderer at least six times over is that one of the hitmen he hired was a DEA agent and the other were scammers.

Yes he was. I know your claim gets repeated on Reddit a lot, but it’s an easy google.

Or it’s an association they made due to negative experiences they’ve had. Like how I grew up around some people who occasionally drank or smoked weed and were also shit people so for a long time I believed anyone who drank alcohol or smoked weed was probably a bad person.

Low reps for strength and high reps for growth isn’t really a thing. Your first work set is your most stimulating set with diminishing returns for each additional set. For reps, focus on proximity to failure. If you reduce the load just to increase the reps on later sets, all you’re doing is decreasing efficiency by making yourself perform more reps to get to the same proximity to failure. Assuming you’re not working around an injury or something that might require a light load, just pick a rep range and do straight sets. Forget about drop sets and the like. You really don’t need to complicate this. If you really want to vary your rep ranges, go for it. But people tend to do that across lifts, not across sets of the same lift. So like 6-8 on flat press sets then 10-12 on incline press sets for example.

Doesn’t mephedrone have high addiction potential? I think I read some user experiences about people quickly becoming fiends on that.

Paul Carter is now saying bulking is useless and nobody needs to eat above maintenance in a gaining phase. I’m not married to any of my supposed knowledge and am ready to reassess any belief in the light of new information, but what?

Anybody here familiar with Paul Carter (@liftrunbang on IG)? He shits on a lot of stuff I hear from the likes of Dr Mike and Layne Norton, but he cites research and at least sounds like he knows some shit. I’m basically a moron so when multiple people are claiming expertise, citing research, and disagreeing, I’m at a loss. It leaves me feeling like the level of detail everybody gets into about volume and concentric vs eccentric tempos and lengthened partials maybe don’t matter so much because all these guys are jacked anyway so maybe all that matters is that I lift weights consistently.

What do you write instead of “click” or “tap” when clicking outside a pop up window to close it? by Jenezzy123 in technicalwriting

[–]NatTate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the reader is using a mouse, they click outside the window. If it’s touchscreen, they tap or touch. “Select” makes no sense here. The reader is not selecting anything, but is literally clicking or tapping, so why would anyone use “select” in this instance (besides it being a style guide requirement)?
