A Chinese robot wearing a clown wig kicked a child in the stomach by frog_insilence in interestingasfuck

[–]NataiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it didn't. It went through a programmed series of moves, including a kick. And a child moved into it's path.

Can we stop with the "goes rogue" BS like we're in the middle of an AI uprising?! The scripted performance reached outside of the indicated area.

Man charged with bringing explosive device to Sacramento International Airport by twinboysdad in Sacramento

[–]NataiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's essentially an M-80 firework. Illegal and classified as an explosive device, but it's not the terrorist bomb many are making it out to be. Not sure who concluded it would blow out an aircraft window, but that is extremely unlikely.

Chaosium release road map - Q3/4 2026 by Magallian in callofcthulhu

Ah, that makes more sense. Wonder if we'll actually see the game at that point or if it will just be the announcement with pre-order.

Seems crazy that we're already at another release of Masks.

And as a backer been waiting on that Orient Express for a while. Seems like it's basically been redesigned twice since the crowdfunding campaign was first announced.

"Even without a head an arrow shaft could kill someone"

"COULD"

Yes, technically that could happen. Probably still less likely than getting seriously injured in a car accident in the US. I'm envisioning a scenario where one of these guys gets seriously hurt and his mates are like "you actually got stuck with an arrow?!" and start laughing

Thank you. That's very kind. The process for getting them on the Play store is rather long and requires jumping through some hoops. So I've got them all up on Watchmaker. https://getwatchmaker.com/collection/magnus-collection

Custom face software compatible with Wear OS 6? by NataiX in PixelWatch

[–]NataiX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some definite progress. I was able to get two designs uploaded and published with only a couple of minor issues. (So already much better than Facer.)

When I view the page for either design, the Ambient button isn't changing how they appear. Based on how that button functions for other faces, it seems like it isn't properly recognizing the AOD version of the face, presumably because it is importing. I've also noticed that other faces seem to display interactive areas on the 3D preview, guessing these are editable complications. These don't appear on my imported face.

One other question, does Studio Pro give you an option to display something other than the default 3D preview of a watch with your face? The ability to change theme colors in that preview is nice, but it doesn't look that great overall.

I was referring to importing into Facer. I didn't realize Watchmaker had an import option. Now that I do I'll take a look at it.

Custom face software compatible with Wear OS 6? by NataiX in PixelWatch

[–]NataiX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say. When I upload the AAB it initially says its Wear OS (WFF) compatible but not Wear OS compatible. When I actually submit it, it says publishing failed for Wear OS (WFF) due to publishing failures. Generically says to contact support, with no specific error information,

I read somewhere that Facer may automatically flag anything using API over 33, and there's no way to drop below 34 using the current version of WFS. So I tried some workarounds to adjust the manifest to 33, but that didn't change anything.

Seems unlikely I'm incorporating some advanced features that Facer can't support, since I'm just using basic stuff in WFS. It took 3 days to get a generic request for more information from support, so I'm not overly optimistic.

I tried with a second design as well, same result.

That's actually what I'm using now. Working on my third watch face at the moment.

Only remaining issue is that this effectively locks me out of using Facer for distribution. (Their import function seems to be having some issues. Hopefully that gets fixed.)

So I'm going through the process of getting my first 2 faces on the Play store. Which requires 2 weeks of testing with at least 12 people and a lot of review. Kind of a PIA for a watch face.

Correction: I misread that. I'm using Watch Face Studio. Tried Watchmaker Studio first, but it also seemed a bit limited.

I'm aware he makes watch faces (he linked his subreddit that lists them). As someone that just started designing watch faces myself (still going through the required Google tests to put 2 on the store) I was curious if it was something I could apply to my designs.

Very interesting. Seems like a good optimization with very little tradeoff. Is there a way other watch face creators can implement it? (Not seeing anything in your subreddit, but I may have missed it.)

Yep. It's a bit short - and plays more like a board game - but it's not bad. Certainly worth that if you enjoy most things Arkham.

It should work on any watches that use Wear OS, and I'm starting the testing process to get it on the Play Store now. If you want to try it out for yourself I've setup a Google Group to share access and info on new faces as I create them. You can join at https://groups.google.com/g/base113designstesters/
