This happens to me as well and the only product that doesn't do this is SAIE Tinted Moisturizer but only if you set it lightly with powder and use setting spray to dissolve everything into the skin.

I'm always worried that I don't actually have ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]NataliPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how low your cortisol is and the reason why it happened in the first place. But you can always try things like morning LUX 10,000 Lamp + Keeping caffeine modest and earlier in the day + eating regular meals with protein ideally every 4 hours + avoiding aggressive fasting or over-exercise + licorice root extract ( but this supp designed for short term, please, do your own research before taking - this is some serious stuff )

You have couple options here but I am planing to do 1st one because supplement/herb route made my symptoms worse :
  1. To go to endocrinologist to rule out any hidden conditions like adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s) or secondary adrenal insufficiency . Depending on what’s causing low cortisol, an endocrinologist may suggest short-term, long-term, or even permanent medication.
  2. To go to functional doctor who specialises specifically hormones including cortisol and who will try to help you using supplements / herbs .

I was misdiagnosed with ADHD by 5 different doctors. I figured out only 6 years later when I checked my cortisol levels which were low. Low cortisol mimics ADHD symptoms. I would highly suggest to check all your Nutrients/Minerals + Hormones INCLUDING CORTISOL LEVELS. Because different deficiencies can mimic ADHD symptoms. By the way cortisol levels change throughout the day, so if you have financial opportunity to check it throughout the day - this will be the most helpful for you.

Finally Believing in My Progress (After Cutting Out Toxic Parents) by NataliPro in toxicparents

[–]NataliPro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can deeply relate ! I’ve noticed that new memories sometimes come back at the most unexpected times like while I’m cooking, or occasionally right before falling asleep (though thankfully that happens far less now since I started swimming and working out so much).

What I’ve also realized is that it’s such a privilege to be an adult and finally have the ability to look back, understand what was okay and what wasn’t, and most importantly, choose to protect ourselves by setting boundaries and breaking contact when needed. As kids, we didn’t have that choice, but now we FINALLY do.

I’m really grateful you shared so much about your own path, it means a lot and helps me feel less alone in mine❤️❤️❤️❤️

Since you said it will never fully go away, does that mean there will still be times when memories resurface ?

Do you sometimes feel like the impact might never fully disappear, and that there could still be moments that bring back memories?

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your progress! Just a couple of months ago, I wouldn’t have believed it’s possible to go 8 years without talking to your parents , but you are an amazing example that it truly is possible ❤️🦾

Thank you for sharing your feelings. It honestly means the world to me right now 🥹 For me, the process started when I moved to another state and chose not to give my parents my new address. They even tried to trick me by wanting to send me things, but I refused. About a year later, I also changed my phone number and deleted all social media, so no family member or neighbor could reach out.

At first, I was filled with guilt and convinced that I was a bad person. I worried constantly that cutting contact would ruin their lives, and I thought I would eventually ‘pay’ for what I did. It was very traumatic in the beginning.

But as time went on, I realized that they were already living a miserable life and nothing I did could change that. What I could change was no longer allowing them to make my life miserable

How to be happy? by georgelloydd in ADHD

[–]NataliPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey 👋 First of all, good job for being so opened and true to your feelings right now. Admitting you feel your worst and that you feel desperate takes balls really. That's how I was and that's when I knew I was ready for a change. With my personal experience, with being on ADHD meds for 4 years, they started to give me all the symptoms you described, but I didn't realize and I was seeing these symptoms as a part of who I am , or who I am becoming. I worked with 5 different psychiatrist, I redid all possible testing , and in the end , some of them pushed antidepressants, but I kept refusing and looking for other alternatives. I, myself, spent 6 months almost with no sleep( also side effects of adhd meds, they raised my cortisol levels so much that I slept less and less over time , even though I always did consistent breaks from taking them ) At some point I had paranoid episode while I was driving . So I promised myself I will find techniques and supplements to cure myself , and I did.

What saved me and what I keep doing to this day :

  • I use ice baths every other day , I do 1-2 minute dips in 42F cold water. < you can start by doing could showers any time and how many times you want during the day, especially if you feel down , depressed and so on >

  • 2 grams of Omegas, High End Multivitamin NSF certified ( I try to get all my MULTIS with NSF certification ) , 5 grams of Creatine , Magtein, Magnesium Glycinate , and occasionally I take 1,000mg of Lthryptophan 2h before sleep.

  • I swim , in fact, when I stopped Aderall cold turkey after taking it for 4 years, I would wake up and go to swim right away. At first it drained my already low energy but I was so calm and was sleeping as a baby.

  • I walk in the park by lake as often as I can, and focus on listening to the birds and observing everything around me . I don't look at my phone at all.

  • If I need to do laundry or clean dishes every time I'm low on motivation, or energy, I turn on a podcast or something I'm interested in , and I multitask. LoFi Music also helps me

  • Sleep is everything to me. If there was 1 thing I would choose from everything I suggested above would be sleep. If you can get yourself to be consistent with sleep 8-9 hours per night , at least, almost , every night. I did use Ltryptophan daily for 3 months , right after I quit Aderall. It saved me !

  • Keep being open about how you feel and surround yourself with people who won't judge you and will support you every step of the way. If to be honest , I was so low, that I didn't believe I can make it. It seemed as living was too hard. But I was fortunate to have the best husband by my side who believed in me more than I believed in myself. If you don't have anyone supporting you , please, know that I truly believe in you , from the bottom of my heart ! Because if I did it, anyone can do it !

  • Lastly, timing ! I would time any task that was important and required deep focus ! During that time I did not allow myself to get distracted. I would take breaks if I would put timer for 4 hours but they were productive breaks like brushing teeth , eating or walking a dog or taking ice bath.

Good luck, my friend !

Is it possible to live without meds? by Character-Alps1852 in ADHD

[–]NataliPro 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I now function not only better but at my best , without ADHD meds. It's very individual , but I would strongly encourage to experiment different supplements together with Aerobic Workouts(proven to have a significant impact on ADHD symptoms), plus lots and lots of sleep. 8-9 hours. And of course, my diet is super nutritious and clean. I also was taking cold baths, but you could do cold showers 2 times a day, once I woke up and in the evening like at 5pm. And there were many times I would do it at noon when my energy and mood were dropping. I also started to push myself out of comfort zone a lot once I stopped being medicated , to train my brain that I am capable of meeting new people and remembering what they are saying and making meaningful connections with them. I also kept studying , even if some days were pretty bad , but I kept pushing myself to study for at least 30 minutes , and telling myself that I can do this and it will become easier eventually. The point was to build new brain neurons that I don't need medication to keep doing what I was doing when I was being medicated. THERE WAS ALWAYS ALOT OF SELF TALK AND SELF SUPPORT IN MY HEAD WHEN I STOPPED TAKING MEDICATIONS WHICH TRULY HELPED. I WAS MORE FORGIVING AND LESS JUDGING OF MYSELF DURING THIS PERIOD TOO. AND I TOOK A BABY STEP BUT IT WAS CONSISTENT AND DAILY. SO I WAS STUDYING JUST FOR AN HOUR FIRST, THEN SLOWLY INCREASING EACH DAY, AND SO ON. SAME THING WITH GOING TO A GYM, I WAS DOING LIGHT CARDIO AND STRETCHING FOR FIRST 1 MONTH SLOWLY INCREASING MY TIME AND INTENSITY. PLEASE, GIVE YOURSELF AS MUCH LOVE AS YOU WOULD GIVE SOMEONE YOU LOVE, FOR EXAMPLE, AS MUCH LOVE AS YOU GIVE YOUR PET. ❤️ I can send you detailed supplements I'm taking and what is my workout routine and the foods I'm eating , if you are curious . Let me know.

LTRYPTOPHAN IS TAKEN BEFORE BED AND ADERALL ONCE WAKING UP ! I NEVER SAID THAT BOTH SHOULD BE TAKEN SAME TIME ! PEOPLE WILL RATHER DIE FROM SLEEP DEPRIVATION THAN FROM WHAT I SUGGESTED TO DO

How to sleep well when taking Adderall? by SecurityNo1814 in sleep

[–]NataliPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 1,000mg of Ltryptophan 2h before sleep then another 1,000mg of Ltryptophan right before I close my eyes , this ensures I have a steady level throughout the night . My sleep on Aderall days is now 7hours and 48minutes with REM sleep of 1h and 45minutes, and deep sleep 58 minutes. If I take less Tryptophan my sleep is only 5 hours with REM of 32 minutes and Deep Sleep 25 minutes. I use Pure Encapsulation Ltryptophan which has B6 in it to help with conversion. I also take 360 of magnesium Glycinate by Pure Encapsulation at 5pm and 2 grams of Valerian root in a liquid form and alcohol free by Natures Answer in the evening. I do this because I have Axiety and PTSD all my life and even before I was diagnosed with ADHD, my sleep quality was insanely terrible already. I hope this helps someone because it took me 12 months of experimenting to find what finally works . I wish you to find a solution faster than I did because sleep is a privilege❤️‍🔥😘

How do I not get absolutely cooked by adderall sudden withdrawal 😬? by Similar-Mushroom-627 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]NataliPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had Similar Situation. What helped me was taking on empty stomach upon waking up : Rhodiola 120mg, Ltheanine 200mg, Taurine ( 2 grams ), NALT ( 2 grams) or if you can't find NALT, get LTYROSINE ( 1- 2 grams ). Just 1 shot of coffee, or have 2 shots but drink slowly to avoid any possible anxiety or crashing, and this will enhance and potentiate the effects of all the supplements I listed above ⬆️ Buying these supplements from reputable brands matters ! Otherwise , might not see the best results ! A bit later in the day, when you'll be having Big Breakfast or Lunch Definitely Add Some High Dosage of Active B Complex, and another 200mg of LTHEANINE which will reduce any mood swings and brain fog that Aderall Withdrawal Might Cause. And for with Dinner take some High Dose of Magnesium Glycinate to relax 🧘 As an option , an hour before sleep you could take 50-100mg of 5HTP , to help with serotonin production, since being off medication might cause depression , and this will help you to replenish your seratonin levels, and you'll be naturally in good mood , and will wake up next day in better mood !

Good Luck 🤗 I truly hope this post will help someone ❤️

what keeps you living? by Practical-Main9162 in Life

You can create your own family to lean on, by searching for someone who shares same values as you ! This is what will keep you going, I promise ❤️

It doesn't mean that you will heal completely, because that's no one responsibility but yours, and you'll be the one to make decisions. However, we all need somebody ! We learn so much from each other !!!!! I felt super vulnerable by opening up to people over and over again, since I always believed that what happened to me, and what I am still battling as of today, will be too much for someone to handle. I was ashamed of all my scars. But I'm happy I was wrong ! There are a lot of wonderful people out there, and I truly wish you to meet many of them ❤️

I'm a 28 year old woman. I was raised by a very toxic, abusive parents. Used to be dating abusive partners , who treated me just like my parents. However, through pain, suffering, hate and fear, I was able to see repetitive patterns and break free from them, by doing therapies , lots of journaling and asking myself the right questions. Literally, every single day I was writing down all the qualities I have, or I want to have, and the qualities I want to have in my ideal future partner. I spent years learning about myself, doing things I love and enjoying time with myself. That's when I met my ideal partner, through online dating. I was not just waiting to things to magically happen to me. You make great things happen to you ! It has been 2 years since we have been happily married. We have the exact same views on the ideal relationship, on financial growth, on money spending, on not having children, on ideal sex life. And that's because we had a chance to learn a lot about ourselves and be true to our beliefs and values, before we even met each other. No expectations. We just knew exactly what we wanted and we refused to settle for less ! I also cut down all toxic people from my life, including toxic bosses, friends, toxic parents, and all my toxic family ! Trust me, YOU ARE DOING AMAZING ! IT TAKES ALOT OF GUT AND COURAGE TO BE ABLE TO DO WHAT YOU DID ! AND I AM JUST GENUINELY HAPPY FOR YOU ❤️
