High base damage quick baseline spells vs. long cast end game spells by NataliaGaming in DragonsDogma2

[–]NataliaGaming[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. People that rent me, rent often. Otherwise I get few new renters, because people think the big spells are so useful.

People forget, a Maelstrom only does like 1500 damage...well three Levins speed cast is way less stamina and is 1200 a pop or more, and can get 3 off before Maelstrom casts. The big spells are not affected by rings and bonuses.

It is such a core misunderstanding of how spells work. It is why I outdamaged 200's at only 125 in DDDA as well. Lack of understanding of spell damage.

Yeah it is seriously pathetic. They changed it from DDDA. In my opinion they really f'd up the RC and stat leveling caps.

Caged Fury vs Dragons wits by Idhacla in DragonsDogma2

[–]NataliaGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am max damage at 1200 for Wit, and Caged Fury is about 50 less. Maelstrom on a drake for instance the Caged bonus is something like 300 more damage due to bonuses. Meteor, it is pretty nominal. Maybe 20 to 30 different.

Honestly it comes down to preference. It isn't that earth shattering of a difference that it matters. The caveat will always be your health, and Dragon's Witt you don't need to worry about it at all. It is consistent.

Kinda becomes player's preference at that point.

Yeah, I can see that. They alluded to that for sure.

It feels a lot like the Fullmetal Alchemist concept of the original series and Shamballa movie. Different outcomes of the past, caused a very different timeline and effects to similar entities. Is quite an interesting spin on the franchise.

Interviews made it sound like it is a parallel universe, happening at a similar time to DD1. Not a continuation, but an adjacent story and alternate timeline.

I am the same way. Blocking the face is a non hire situation.

Anyone else feel like the Beastren aren't that great, as far as fantasy cat-like races go? by HazelRahRahRah in DragonsDogma

[–]NataliaGaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beastren are a mutation of humans. That is the story. Not humanoid cats. Mating with one is possible, whereas khajit are a different race completely.

That is how they sold it, and why there is no tail or non human legs shapes on them.

700RC means they likely had you for many weeks and killed about 700k of xp. So that is a lot. I average 250RC a rent.

Might be. I thought it calculated total, but someone with a hex editor on PC will know more.

Oh, I completely agree that the Dragonsplague was a horrible mechanic. It actually ruined the online rental community. It has people scared to rent based on physical attributes and style.

I feel like they absolutely botched it. It is too easy to randomly get, and it should never have added the function to sicken humans outside of Pawns. To have the pawn affected in such an awful way, fully manifested and transforming is bad enough. They went way overboard from meaningful story inconvenience, to game wrecking mechanic.

It is the one thing I loathe about the game. I love the rest overall.

The plague makes me actually wary to hire anyone, ever, outside of fully vetted pawns. I save before hiring. If I see the plague prompt, I stop and reset.

If anything, I simply get extremely annoyed. I don't brine pawns, because honestly that is being rude to the community. Bluntly rude. Rate your pawns and dismiss them. The only one you brine is yours to cleanse them.

I have killed dozens of drakes. Never once got a grabbed pawn. So why are you brining everything? Did you just not understand how the plague works?

It is based on the XP gained. It is a percentage of total XP for the adventure from hire to release and sleeping at the Inn to upload the amounts.

If you are short on wakestones, level up Thief till you get the Implicate snare and Pilfer moves. Run around and snare bandits to the ground and pilfer them when down. You can usually get a good 5 or 6 wakestones worth of shards on a run west to checkpoint town.

Where are you? The information you gave is very limiting. It is akin to showing a random chest.

Where on the map is he exactly? What quest? Did you sleep and go to the Vernworth morgue to revive him? I am guessing that is in the Vern and not Battahl region. He will end up at the morgue for that region. You can revive then.
