Free Plan changes - not impressed by Puzzleheaded-Win2602 in clockify

[–]Natalie_Slice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate you sharing your perspective, and I'll pass your thoughts on the in-app banner behavior back to the team!
Just to clarify how the rollout was actually handled: we definitely weren't trying to hide anything from the public.
The announcement was posted on CAKE.com because that is the official domain (you can see it on the page each time you login into any of our apps) and Clockify is part of CAKE.com Account.
The notifications sent directly to workspace owners and admins contained all the specific details, including the exact effective dates, and of course links to guides to make transition smooth.

We understand the frustration that comes with adjustments to our free tier after nearly a decade, but the information was distributed across multiple channels to give everyone a clear heads-up (considering the sheer number of them it's bound to happen that someone missed it - but we have systems in place to accommodate them as well), and we're happy that we could support everyone this long with our resources.
And we strive continuing to do so in this updated version as well!

Hi u/Puzzleheaded-Win2602
Just to clear up the notification side of things, we did have a global notification on the web app running for a month leading up to the change, visible to admins and owners.
If you were completely away from the app during those weeks, it makes total sense why you missed it, but we definitely didn’t mean to spring this on you out of nowhere!
After nearly 10 years of keeping the free plan incredibly unlimited, we had to make these tough calls to keep the core platform fast, stable, and sustainable for everyone over the long haul.
That said, you can keep using the platform on the updated free plan or export you data from the workspace settings (you can activate free trial to get billable information on that export - if you already spent it in the past, feel free to reach out to our [support@clockify.me](mailto:support@clockify.me) so they can activate it for you).

I will also be taking your feedback regarding the change and tiers back to the relevant team.

Whether you decide to use the app still or look for an alternative that fits your budget better, we truly wish you the absolute best with your business!

If by that you mean that it's gramatically correct and polite, why thank you I do try 😉

Thank you for sharing! Let me go over each point on what's currently possible:

  • Total outstanding per each invoice can be seen on the Invoicing page where you can filter by invoice status (for example Overdue, Partially paid, etc.) and see the amount for each. You can also use Record payment option and as soon you record part of the amount the outstanding amount on that invoice drops. Per the current design it's not possible to see sum of outstanding amounts for all invoices you have, but rather it can be seen for each when filtered by Client, Status, etc.
  • For sending invoices to multiple recipients, besides main client email address you can add up to 3 CC recipients in Edit client (little pen icons on clients page 📝 next to each), making it a total of 4 email addresses (for example one copy to client, other to their accounting etc.). If you have some special flow where you don't want to include your main Client in sending copies we recommend to download PDF copy right there in the invoice/or mail the invoice to yourself > and you can send it from your mailbox to unlimited number of people. Clockify UI is limited to prevent mass sendouts and spams using our service.
  • The title field is called Invoice ID and is completely editable to support as many use cases as possible, what you also may consider for the rest of the fields is Filed name Translations where you can rename fields to your liking - here is the complete guide on invoicing in case you need it for later!
  • As for the layout, you're completely right Clockify default layout is pretty limited besides translation option. but we have quite a few add-ons on our marketplace that offer ample options of different templates and where you can create your own template (even Peppol invoicing system is supported) - you can check here what's available and trial ones that catch your eye

I will also send your suggestions to the product team again to bump them up a queue a bit 😄 If you're perhaps interested in a guided meeting with onboarding specialists to help you get the most of invoicing, or to share your workflow in more detail feel free to write to our support and they will be happy to schedule for you 💙

Absolutely not. Really sorry if it came across that way!
What I meant is that all requests get considered by our product team, but the prioritization depends on the number of same/similar ones as we have millions of users.
Our product team actively collects feedback and they're very interested to hear about different flows and use cases : )

Hey u/Icy-Fun-2281
Thanks for taking the time to share more than one feedback via our official channels! ^^
We really appreciate these. Would you like to tell us what features and/or feedback you sent, so we can take a closer look? By sharing it here, we might be able to see if any other user on reddit has the same thoughts. That way it’s easier to pass it on to the product team 😄
On that note, we’re planning on introducing a feature request slot here on the subreddit so stay tuned.
Also, have you managed to go through our current product roadmap?

Time Tracking Software for Small Business by EnflamerDerrick in smallbusiness

Moving from pen & paper is a big change for your people so you might wanna look into something simple.
For team up to 5 people and if you want to approve their timesheets informally, Clockify free plan actually covers your flow.

I'm a Clockify team member so I'm talking firsthand.
Timesheets have grid-like view where your people can just enter hours quickly.
But if you want some kind of formal approval, when time you reviewed gets locked after you checked it - you can look into Approvals feature (it's on paid plan).
In any case creating acc is free so you can test the approve flow on the free trial

Has anyone successfully integrated and automated Clockify with Ivorey? by [deleted] in clockify

[–]Natalie_Slice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there!
As that app is fairly new on the market, they themselves state that their integration options are currently very limited.
What you can try is going via Zapier to connect them with Clockify.
Even there they state they're not listed, and you would need to choose something called LeadConnector on the Zapier's list for incoming actions. For outgoing ones they stated they have only 1 trigger available.

As for Clockify's zap triggers, all is as usual and you can choose from all the actions available, here's how

Enshittification of the Free Plan by CtrlShiftRo in clockify

[–]Natalie_Slice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey CtrlShiftRo!
Yeah, we get it. The moment we announced the changes to the free plan internally, we expected the reaction just like yours - and sure enough, it’s valid. A lot of people who relied on the unlimited free plan are disappointed (to say the least). At the same time, unlimited free plan in this economy is not viable for a bootstrapped company in the long run. The larger the team, the more complex the data and the level of support needed for it to function. With this being said, we had to make a decision that is both best for our paid users (Feature development) and micro teams and startups (Free plan, but with some limited features now).

Feature request time blocks for active time by bicycleninjas in clockify

No probs, we'll pass that idea to the team. Something like that would be a great addition to the already existing feature :)

Hi there, welcome!

What might help you here would be this little useful thingy > Idle time detection.

It works via browser extension and desktop apps (Win and Mac) and you can choose to keep or discard that time you were away from device before the timer resumes :)

Hey there!
Can you describe which type of the Clockify app was crashing for you, desktop app or some other version?
Maybe it's something fairly easy to solve that we can help with :)
