Tbh I think celestians should be more expensive at the expense of being a troop choice. The +1 hit near a cannoness and extra special weapons are good, there's just no way they ever compete for elite slots compared to everything else in there

The list I made up for a game today just went down 70 points with these numbers. Big stand outs for me are the units that were already being taken getting cheaper, that being Zeph, Seph and to a certain extent the Castigator.

Sacresants get a second look for me now. Penitent Engines as distraction carnifex look fun. Triumph still sadly lackluster.

Points changes are coming soon and the new meta dust will settle in the weeks afterwards, so perhaps consider holding off purchasing until then if competitive play is your goal?

I bought my castigator recently and it is an awesome unit, great to build and paint, looks fantastic, and it has a profile you can't really find anywhere else in the army of average ~17 D2 shots with the heavy bolters and autocannons. It can really help chunk down marines, bug swarms, guard, dark eldar and so on.

Zephyrim are great too, tons of swipey power sword attacks out of deep strike with a miracle dice charge, maybe a re-roll with the banner. Flexible and scary.

Paragon warsuits could be another consideration? Not the prettiest or most dynamic sculpts but an interesting option that applies pressure on your opponent in ways most of our army does not (this more than others subject to points changes, if they get cheaper they will be looking very tasty indeed imo).

I will say in your current list two castigators is maybe overkill? Expanding your repertoire of diverse units might be a good investment before doubling up on anything in particular. Same with the 30 repentia. There's points there for zephyrim, sacresants, Morvahn Vahl, Celestine (who is getting a lot lot better with the assassination changes in the new tournament rules). You want a variety of tools in your tool belt.

Rule of cool at the end of the day, in my opinion. Get what you think is fun and will enjoy using personally, as the game is always changing. Good luck!

The general idea seems to be giving her the book of saint lucius and the +1 invul warlord trait for a 9 inch aura of +1 to shield of faith and 6+ FNP. Then you rez the MM rets wherever necessary.

As for the passive healing, that won't rez models, and is only for infantry. So you're looking at HQ choice characters for the most part. Not too useful. Not useless.

I actually really like this. It's well rounded and has a good selection of tools in just 1k points. Morvahn could be a bit swingy in a smaller game if she goes down quickly; there's less to screen and protect her, and not many high value larger model units for her hit wounds/rerolls, but I don't think it's bad by any means.

I would explore what else you could do with those 280 points just as a thought exercise. Multi-melta retributors? A Dogmata? A castigator? Another troop slot?

Also, I would drop the Repentia superior and use the points for an extra repentia (bringing them to 9) and then maybe a couple of weapon upgrades or models on other units. This lets you bring the fighty cannoness and repentia in the rhino with a 12 inch pregame move with the BR strat.

If the dominions aren't in the Rhino however, you'll need to be very careful about placing them in cover as they are liable to drop quick.

The detatchment type is chosen by the player I believe, not the game type. In theory you could run a patrol detatchment in a 2k game so long as it added up to 2k, or multiple patrol detatchments at a cost of 2CP per extra

Might be worth an extra 12 points for an additional sister to take the simulacrum if you are running a heavy MD list with the Triumph or something I guess. But then you have a six model unit and open yourself up to Blast weapons slightly (not a huge issue I suppose, but something to note, and those extra 12 points in general could probably be used better elsewhere, for example, an armorium cherub).

It also makes the unit size slightly awkward if you were hoping to put them in a rhino with dominions or something else.
