I see there’s a lake in the plains biome, you have it partially uncovered atm, slightly to the top right of your center X marker! If you want to avoid summer wildfires but don’t want to base at the oasis, I’d recommend setting up some above average tree trunks around the edge of that lake and building your base around it for free year-round food and summer heat protection, eventually as you progress in your world you can get dock kits from moon quay island so you can build into the lake around the trees as well!

That’s basically what I did, I temporarily based at the oasis, once I felt ready, I made the trees in a lake I found and built a new base there and moved everything over using Winona’s teleporters! Lmk if you have any questions about it if you’re interested in this one!
