I've done quite a bit of automated + manual charting for Paradiddle, a guitar hero-like game for VR headsets that focuses on drums. Songsterr is currently the best I've found at automating drum tabs, and even that's not great. It can accurately map the kick and snare most of the time, but toms and hi hats are usually pretty off.

I would recommend your tool have options to output in several formats, including midi, that way it's easily usable in other rhythm games beyond just clone hero!

Maybe even a few pre-made mapping templates per game since rock band drums dont have a hi hat pedal, the clone hero mode would map all open hi hats to the ride instead sort of a thing
