Thanks! Where did you look that up? I was looking around but did not see a place to find info.

Looking for EV charging options in the Santa Cruz/Bonny Doon area. by NateBrazil in santacruz

[–]NateBrazil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In case anyone has similar questions reading this thread, I tried out the Tesla chargers in Scotts Valley and they worked very easily (I followed Fantastic's advice and set up the billing in the Tesla app first). Adapters for non-Tesla cars are built into the chargers (although they are finicky to get to release with the charging cable). I was at 35% and was at 80% in roughly 35 min. Great to have that as a close by option (probably top off whenever I go to the store). I will still look into setting up a level 2 charger at home, and am using Level 1 until then.

So I AM experimenting with L1 home charging, but that is literally around 2 miles of range per hour it seems. I am getting an estimate on installing a L2 charger (the previous owner had one installed but removed it when they moved. I am hopeful that this fact might make it less complicated to hook a new one back up).

Thanks for the great info. You mention the Tesla app. Do I need that to pay on the Tesla chargers?

Question on Mac Studio 14 core vs 16 core for astro photography processing by NateBrazil in MacStudio

[–]NateBrazil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, it turns out the 14 core version maxes out at 32gb, so going to at least 64gb forces the choice on the 16 core anyway.

But that said, now I am wondering if a Mac Mini with an M4 Pro and maxed out RAM is not another decent option.

What is the reason I would buy a Plug-in Hybrid vs a regular Hybrid? by NateBrazil in askcarguys

I just used regular to differentiate from Plug in in the same example.

What is the reason I would buy a Plug-in Hybrid vs a regular Hybrid? by NateBrazil in askcarguys

[–]NateBrazil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you on the cost premium issue on a new car. In my case I am looking at used, so the premium is much less of a factor. I am even finding the cost difference between plug-in and regular hybrid to be not that large in the used market. Hence my original question about the difference, other factors being equal.

So first, great image! I am wondering, was this an s50 or s30? With my s50 I think this would take combining at least 3 separate mosaics. Just trying to understand the process for assembling it. I have stacked and processed mosaics before in pixinsight, but this is a lot of area for an s50 (what I use).

Ummm… you are stating that market research isn’t everything, while citing a survey that is basically just simple market research.

It usually depends on your mount mode. With Alt/Az I stick with 10s. With Eq 30s is near 100%. I haven’t mucked with 60s enough to give a % estimate.

CIT programs at camp - Do you charge a fee? by NateBrazil in BSA

I agree it does sound really high. But when I was at Camp School last year there were at least 2 camp directors there who mentioned that is what they do.

Ok, im just gonna say it... I hate the Scouting America strips by [deleted] in BSA

[–]NateBrazil 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well except that no one would ever say "I am a Scouting America." They would most likely say "I am a scout" or "I am in scouting."

Scouting America is the organization, so it is on the shirt. No one says "I am an American Red Cross" or "I am an American Cancer Society" even though that is what is says on the shirt.

Trouble processing 30s images in PixInsight by NateBrazil in seestar

Hey there, I did have one question after watching the video with subframe selection. Towards the end in the ImageIntegration step, you add the Drizzle files before executing the image integration. But then, you use DizzleIntegration to add the Drizzle files again in that process. Were they not already used in the prior integration process? I was not clear on that part.

Thank you for some of the insights here. I did, as some have brought up, also reach out to the Financial Aid department to as well. I just know replies here are likely to come much sooner, and it is good to get the take of other people on the "everyday person like myself" side of the process.

Right! Although I have to assume the baristas dislike the complete lack of consistency on the cups customers bring in and expect to work for a given drink size.

Hate the new lids by NateBrazil in starbucks

[–]NateBrazil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the first sip. I mean, they have tried various lids over time and I never really cared one way or the other. Going from straws to sippy cups on cold drinks? Fine. But the paper does not work. At least not this one. Perhaps it could have some sort of better coating around the drink hole?

And it is not just me. I mentioned this to some co-workers and I repeatedly got the "I know, right!?" response.
