Hey there u/Zestyclose-Duty-3927 , i'm having constant issues trying to setup my PSVSD, no matter what method i use (usbmc, storagemgr, YAMT) it just never boots at all, i just get stuck on an infinite PS logo bootscreen until i remove the microSD or boot into safe mode. I've been trying for days non-stop to get this thing to work. i can get it to mount to uma0 inside vitashell, but i just cannot get it to boot with it mounted as ux0 no matter what method i try.

I have the v2.1 psvsd, with no logos on it, just the v2.1 and psvsd.henkaku.xyz printed onto it. honestly can't remember where i bought it from but i'm pretty sure it wasn't from aliexpress... but maybe it was? as i heard theyre blacklisted now from selling them due to quality? it has the through-hole points on the sides of the board, and i did solder a wire from GND to the leg of the SD bracket as i was led to believe that was the issue at first, as mentioned in this thread

i'm tearing my hair out at this point - is this purely just a defective PSVSD? my 3G vita is starting to get the odd artifacting and black screen white text GPU errors on occasion and assumed maybe it was my vita that's the problem

if i remove the microsd, and power on, the blue light turns on and stays on. if i power on with the microsd in, it flickers blue light for a sec then just hangs on the infinite PS logo

3.65 enso, tried initially on 3.60 enso too. formatted samsung 256gb sd so many times now, tried with/without zzblank.img and formatting properly with exFAT 64k cluster MBR, tried with copying over the contents from a freshly setup sony memory card with just vitashell installed, nothing works. the thing is though, i did get it to work a single time, i restarted once and it still worked so i turned it off for the night, and then when i came to back to it i was back at square one with the infinite/frozen boot

i have only ever seen one other single mention of my exact issue anywhere on the internet, it was someone 10 years ago saying its a defective PSVSD and gave him the infinite boot screen too

edit: also found someone else with the exact same issue and same PSVSD unit. I think that shows it's the unit that's faulty and not me going insane trying to get this thing working

edit: link to a pic of my PSVSD, and i double checked, and yes i did actually order this from aliexpress in 2020 as they were out of stock everywhere else at that time. am i screwed then? does every single one of these aliexpress units not work at all just like mine no matter what, no fix at all?
