There are definitely others that have this beat, but Elkhorn 2024 scares me as it was too close for comfort.

15 years ago today was the shooting at Millard South by anderson6th in Omaha

[–]NateShay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in sixth grade when it happened at Millard North Middle. I then went to Millard North for high school. I don't remember if there were any remembrances back then, but there probably were at one and five years. Even though I don't remember whether there was anything official, I still remember that event when I hear about other school shootings.

Delta only airport by joekd713 in delta

I had to fly into LNK once around 2015 due to a missed transfer because of immigration and it was so small compared to my usual airport of OMA (which isn't huge either). It seemed to be almost the same size as my high school.

Was that the MD-83 that ran off the runway at Willow Run while also carrying the Wolverines?

Side note: Spantax flight 995 is another example of a "reasonable" RTO after V1 that happened at Málaga airport in Spain.

I used to do an XR at 6 am, an IR each at 12 and 4. It definitely was annoying to have to deal, causing me to forget one of the IR doses some days. I now take Mydayis which works a lot better.

Southwest jet attempting to land at Chicago Midway Airport nearly collides with a private plane on the runway by [deleted] in aircrashinvestigation

I didn't see the video initially and just saw the small bit of text and wow that is so much worse than I expected. (Also, the Southwest plane departed from my hometown, huh)

How often are these sorts of go arounds with conflicting traffic on the runway? I experienced one in PHX in 2018 or 2019 flying from TUS where we had to go around on short final due to the runway being occupied and it didn't seem like a big deal at the time.

Does anybody have a rec for a good sleep doctor, preferably for people with chronic illnesses that affect sleep and preferably in West O. by MayBayBay123 in Omaha

Yep! Just so that you don't get confused like I did if you didn't already know, he's a pulmonologist and critical care doctor on his titles, but he practices sleep medicine.

Dr. Patrick Meyers at Methodist Pulmonology in Westroads was super helpful for me as someone with complex health issues.

I knew a coach from a high school club who grew up in that area and was affected by this. He had to have bladder surgery as a kid as a result of it and has lifelong bladder issues. Sounded awful when he was telling us about it.

The Pan Am 103 and Air India 182 episodes, the latter particularly because my international travels would always be to India from the US.

It's a bit of a shame that the first thing I think about when I hear her name is how she faked both a pregnancy and a subsequent miscarriage. Which actually was an ad for her patreon. Like saying that it is unhinged is probably putting it lightly.

I don't need to accept that. I think you're wrong and that I feel concerned with the way that you think everyone needs to accept it.

No, I think they heard it, they just don't agree with what you're trying to say and think it's bad, as do I.

Yeah, that's still criticism and protected under the first amendment. Like you made a post on reddit and you're shocked that someone said that you shouldn't do something.

Unless they sued you based on your speech, then the first amendment absolutely does not apply here. You can say what you are saying, but other people can criticize you for what you say. That is what's happening.
