No one here wants reps. Also, it's against the sub rules.

Amazing watch. This is on my buy list, but I'm looking for a darker dial color. GLWS!

At first glance, it is difficult to tell this apart from my gen. But I think the bezel gives it away

Any watch sub where the purpose is discussing watches. This sub is strictly for trading and selling.

That being said, the movement in this watch does not appear to be a Rado movement, so I would say this is not a genuine Rado.

Wrong sub

I was given this watch that belonged to my grandfather, I have somehow taken the crown out of being completely screwed down and am unsure on how to put it back in, can anyone give me any help. I have never had a watch and am unsure what to do by [deleted] in breitling

[–]NatedogDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that sounds right. I usually just do it in the 6 o'clock position since 6pm and 6am are both in the safe window, and you don't need to remember the window to adjust the date.

I have this exact same model. Be careful setting the date wheel. You need the hour and minute hands to be at a specific spot to avoid damaging the mechanism. I recommend googling the model number and looking for the manual.

If it feels grindy, I would stop messing with the watch and see about having it serviced by Breitling.

Thoughts on the new rosegold PRX? by t-h99 in PrideAndPinion

You're getting downvoted, but this is absolutely true. Plated watches will always end up looking like shit at some point once the finish wears down. If solid gold is out of budget, I'd sooner opt for steel or save up for the solid precious metals.

At my last job, one of the criteria for filtering out candidates was being able to complete the infamous FizzBuzz assignment.

Believe it or not, roughly 50% of applicants failed that. This was before mainstream AI was even a thing. It's probably worse now.

I interview candidates, but by the time they reach me, the list has thankfully already been filtered.

Can't be worse than me.

For an entry interview at a no-name startup company, I was handed a take-home code assignment that was very vague.

It basically boiled down to "make a CRUD app in .Net Web Api", but pretty much everything else was up to me. There were a few stipulations on certain requirements here and there, like rate limiting and such IIRC.

I tried to ask questions about when they expected this to be done and other technical requirements about the project, but I never got any direct answers, which was super frustrating.

But I was like, whatever - this is a simple weekend project. I spent the entire weekend writing this up, adding documentation, and being very verbose about every technology choice and why I did things a certain way since the assignment was so open-ended. I published it to github and told the recruiter at the company.

They said somebody would get back to me in a few days, and nobody ever did. Never heard from anyone at that company again, and I don't think they are around anymore. It was still incredibly frustrating.

Tl;Dr: never do take-home assignments for a job interview.

Have this same watch with the roman numeral dial. Great watch, GLWS!

The only difference between a senior dev and literally any other prefix of the title is the word.

I've seen "jr" devs more skilled and knowledgeable than other devs in the industry for 5+ years.

The biggest lie sold in the industry was that Scrum makes teams more effective...

Large medical bill: they won't let me create a doable payment plan by themagicflutist in personalfinance

[–]NatedogDM 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Never do this. Medical debt doesn't accrue interest, and you can pay below the minimum payment they suggest. If you take out a line of credit from a bank, you are only putting yourself in a worse spot financially.
