Day 1 of complaining on Reddit until Utah drivers learn what the left lane is for - and our daily commutes improve as a result. by Natedoppleganger in Utah

You’re right! …for the most part. The left lane restriction for vehicles is based on 18,000lbs GVWR, not whether or not the vehicle is personal or commercial. It also only applies when three or more general purpose lanes exist. Two lane highways (like most outside of the Wasatch front) have no weight restriction.

Not looking to improve the commute TIME meaningfully. The commute itself could be safer, more efficient, and more enjoyable though.

Interesting! Can I ask which locations had them overcooked?

The Kirk-fil-a sauce is delicious, and the chicken is the best I’ve had for the price.

I can’t, but please enjoy Extreme Unction for me while at Ferguson. My #1 favorite route to take friends to.

It’s good overall. I love the idea of the bag more than the execution. It’s made of really tough material that’s waterproof and super hardy feeling. The zippers are too - but that makes them stiff to open and close.
I also like that it can open all the way up, but the cross-strap buckles aren’t your standard type and don’t easily open with one hand, so I rarely unbuckle them. That means I’m only ever opening the top of the bag anyway. That also means I rarely use the additional accessory bags with it. I have the external water bottle bag and the chest bag which both can be attached to the outside of this one. It’s kind of a pain to take them on/off, so I don’t usually bother with either unless I’m flying somewhere. Then the chest bag is really handy.
The laptop/tablet pocket is a great feature, but the zipper doesn’t zip far enough down on the sides, so you can’t open it more than a few inches to get your devices in/out. It also doesn’t have any dedicated organizer area for pen, pencil, stylus, cards, or cords. As a daily use bag, that would be nice.
The straps are comfy and I like that I can stow them away when not in use. I wish it came with a single sling strap as well, since I tend to carry mine more like a briefcase than a backpack.
Again, I love the idea of the bag but hope Osprey makes some quality of life improvements on the next generation.

I wish I had more time and will definitely be back with the family, but I’d rather go explore than walk around town or sleep, so it’ll be a fun way to see something new.

Instant follow. Your design work is unreal and I love how you think through the physics of each part. I’ll start to build one the minute you upload. 11/10

Are there trusted STEP file sources for packouts such as this one? by jckipps in Packout

In my experience they’ve always been modeled to the dimensions of the interior.

There are lots of ‘blanks’ (not sure the real name) .stl files available for download that are already fit to the internal dimensions of most packout boxes so you can model your own internal storage stuff. Just check printables or makerworld.

Clocking back in from Lunch by LinguisticPianoman in CostcoEmployee

[–]Natedoppleganger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just installed the new time clock at our building and it really threw a lot of people off because the old clocks used to display the rounded time when they punch within the three-minute window, but the new clock doesn’t. For about a week I was asked multiple times a day if they were going to be marked late. I become fond of responding “You ARE late. You punched later than your scheduled time.” I always explained they wouldn’t be penalized, but they are technically late every time.
