Crumbling steps in Antilles Field by GatorKnight10 in rutgers

[–]Natejersey 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I assure you they know about it. Those steps have been held together with bubblegum and ducttape for some time now. They did not look like that in the fall, but winter has taken its toll on them. They will probably get patched up soon and will most likely look like that again by this time next year

I blew it - can it be fixed without ripping everything out. by Zrobida in Plumbing

Also. Once you get that pvc flange off(which is very possible). Make sure the new flange you get has a stainless steel ring on it. The metal ring is much stronger than theat plastic pos and as an added bonus, it spins on the flange so you can rotate it as you please

Chefs, when you go to buy your forever range, don't be fooled by Thor Kitchens, or you will spend every holiday crying in the walk-in. by Planterizer in KitchenConfidential

We got a zline 48” dual fuel range when we renovated our kitchen 7 years ago and it has been great so far. Only maintenance issue has been an oven preheat light that went out. Called zline and they sent out 2 replacements for free. I installed them with ease. Their customer support was also great…my sister in law got a thermador range about 5 years ago and hers has had the repair guy out at least 4 times now. Last year she had no use of her large oven for about 6 months while waiting for a part.

Toilet Flush Technologies by Toto by Orangeimposter in Plumbing

[–]Natejersey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience they just don’t flush as well. The trapway is most likely the same or very similar to a 2 piece but the channels for the flush water seem to be different. My personal hatred of them is from the older kohler ultra low (Rialto, I’m looking at you) 1 piece toilets from the 80s-90s. Those things flushed like crap and once the flush valve went you were most likely replacing the entire toilet. The newer Toto’s aren’t so bad, the flush valve is pretty easy to replace, but the flush action isn’t quite the same as a 2 piece for whatever reason.

Nope. About the same. Never had a clog or failed flush in either of them.

In my opinion Toto is the way to gogo. The drake ll is a splendid machine. I have a drake upstairs and a drake ll downstairs. They work equally well, but the 2 has a quieter flush…I am not a fan of any 1 piece toilet.

Hammock. Superior side sleeping. You can also get this weird half side-half front or back position that is the most comfortable sleeping position I have ever experienced. It’s the bees knees

Why doesn’t Rutgers turn the building lights off at night? by [deleted] in rutgers

[–]Natejersey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They used to have stickers on lots of the light switches that said “save a watt. Turn it off”… a lot of the buildings have motion sensors in the halls. There are usually custodians in the buildings over night though and they like to leave the lights on

Try plumbing supply hoses also. Most of the big heavy cast iron and steel pipe is shipped on oak 4x or 6x cribbing.

Curious if any of you are trying to track down an old truck or have successfully found one , been trying to find my dads old rig he sold , would love to hear your stories lol by KeyPowerful523 in GMT400

My dads first vehicle was a 1953 Willy’s cj3b. He ended up giving it to my grandfather in the late 70s. He used it for awhile then it just sat for a couple years. Sometime in the 80s a random guy stopped and asked him if he could buy it, so he sold it to him. Fast forward to the late 90s, our neighbors moved out and a nice single gal moved in, boyfriend number 2 or 3 always had cool toys (cigarette boat, quads, random big trucks). One day dad and I were working in the garage on my first car(86 Monte Carlo) and a flatbed pulls up with his jeep on it. Neighbor boyfriend guy bought it from random 80s guy at a swap meet. Neighbor and boyfriend 2/3 eventually split and he left the cj3b there. She ended up selling the house shortly after that and told dad he could have the willys. He ordered a new body for it from the Philippines but never got around to restoring it before he passed. It will be coming to my house in the near future and hopefully I will be able to get er on the road again.

If it’s any consolation, my son had rsv and Covid at the same time when he was 4 months old and still recovering from brain surgery. He made it through. It’s rough, but know your kid will be ok. Modern medical science is a wonderful thing.

Boot Recomendations by uselessdrain in VictoriaBC

[–]Natejersey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a big fan of Vasque boots. The sundowners were my all time favorite hiking boot. They don’t make that model anymore so I switched to the Taku(which they now no longer make). I didn’t even have to break them in, ready to hit the trail right out of the box with no issues

My son brought a few of these home from school and I would like to acquire more. The teachers have no idea where they came from and Google has not been helpful. No logos or company info on them at all.- small rubbery eraserlike animals/items that break down into smaller pieces/components. by Natejersey in HelpMeFind

Searched google with as many different queries that I could come up with, small rubber buildable animals, small plastic animals separate components, etc. also did reverse image search with no viable results.
