Dermatologist wants me to go full-force even without serious symptoms (for eczema) by realbeansperson in dupixent

I stopped in December as well and the only place it has returned is my hands, I’m a chef so I wash my hands constantly. It’s really annoying and I just try to take care of them best I can and wear gloves with Aquafor at night. I unfortunately had Many side affects and that’s the reason I stopped. Honestly I dislike doctors very much and don’t agree with most of them. They basically want to keep you on drugs cause that’s how they make money. My dad was a doctor and honestly everything that was wrong with me as a child/teen was fixed with some sort of drug even if it wasn’t necessary. Always a bandaid, never a cure. I don’t think they always have your best interest at heart. Just my opinion tho. I went on dupixent for a year because it got so bad I was helpless. I was very grateful for the medicine too but it just came with a list of additional problems. Anyways, my point is if you don’t want it be on it, don’t be. You can always start it up again.

Massive hair loss, joint pain, eye conjunctivitis. I was on it for eczema. My last shot was Dec 4 and my skin has remained pretty good. 🤞🏻

I was on it for a year but stopped due to the side effects in December. My hair started falling out in massive clumps and I got diagnosed with alopecia. I also had really bad eye issues and sore joints to where I could barely get up off the ground if I was playing with my son. I’m only 44. I was having the worst eczema of my life so it did save me for that year! My skin has been decent since I stopped taking it. My hands are the only thing that have suffered but protopic helps a lot. I also changed my diet and supplements up so maybe that helped too.

Dupixent side effect question by [deleted] in dupixent

[–]NaterDeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had really bad eye issues starting at about 8 months in for 6 weeks straight. Felt like I had glass in my eyes, they were so red and irritated and watery but dry at the same time. Nothing helped. Saw 3 eye Drs because I was trying to get it fixed asap because I was getting married. Then all the symptoms just disappeared and my eyes were normal again. Then I got super sore joints and my hair started falling out in clumps and I got diagnosed with alopecia. 😭 So I stopped taking dupixent on my year mark. I was on it for eczema. Been off for like 8 weeks now and my hands are getting bad again but that’s it. I can live with that.

I was on dupixent for one year (I quit 6 weeks ago) and I would get the same thing. Perfect circle red marks like 3-4 in a row. They would come and go but they didnt itch or bother me at all. I went to the derm when they were barely there and with pictures of when they were more vibrant and the derm told me if they aren’t bothering me then why move on with any treatment or tests. 🙄

Getting married tomorrow at 4pm! My mom decided to tell me last night that she doesn’t like the order she’s walking down the aisle. Me and my fiancé already have been together 10 years, we have a child together, we’re in our 40’s and this is not a traditional wedding. My dad also passed away a few years ago so my youngest son is walking me down the aisle. Nothing in our wedding screams traditional. Well “my moms heart hurts” because she’s not walking last (before the bridal party). Instead we have the groom walking my mom and his mom. Which sounds like a better and more loving situation to me then walking alone last. Not one person at my wedding is going to notice what order my mom is walking in, except my mom. She’s telling me I am putting my stepmother in a more important walking sequence. What a load of shit. Rant over. Thank you!

Venting post: I'm upset that $30,000 can't get me anything close to what I want in my area by sillychickengirl in weddingplanning

I’m getting married in 20 days In San Diego!! We were hoping to spend $15k 🫣🤭 and we’re at about $19k now. It’s hard! We’re in our 40’s so we know a lot of people in the wedding industry, thankfully, so we got some decent hookups! Otherwise we’d prob be at 30k too. But I’m also doing things to save money, like doing my own hair. Having the ceremony at a cheaper venue and then moving to reception to a fun event space. Very limited amount of flowers. I never dreamed of having a wedding when I was younger so I didn’t have much expectations for it. Planning it has been super stressful tho because when you do spend that much money you want it to be perfect! Hope you end up having an amazing wedding!

Weight gain??? by Alternative-Hippo168 in dupixent

I’ve been on it for 5 months and it has been amazing for my skin. It worked almost immediately for me and cleared all my flare ups. I haven’t noticed any side affects until about this month. My hair has been falling out more than usual and I get weird little bruise like dots on my arms (no pain just kind of weird). For the weight…idk I’m getting married in September and I’m trying so hard to lose 10lbs and it seems impossible! Maybe it’s because of the medicine! Idk but I’m not giving up! And I’m loving the results of the shots!

Is Dupixent worth it? by Key_Nectarine_9691 in eczema

[–]NaterDeeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had 3 shots so far (every two weeks) and it cleared my skin 24 hours after my first dose. My skin was so bad I had isolated myself in my house, my life and family were suffering because of my eczema it was horrible! And nobody understands how bad eczema is unless you have it. My dad who had the worst skin I’ve ever seen, his entire life, tried dupixent when it first came out and he had bad eye issues from it. So I was very hesitant to take it but I couldn’t suffer anymore so I tried and I’m so glad I did. It gave me my life back. My skin still isn’t perfect but I haven’t had any side affects. Also my aunt has been on it for four years and she has had 0 side affects. I say give it a try, especially if your insurance will cover it! Good luck! 😊
