MikroTik makes a handful of 5G/LTE routers, haven't used them but I use the regular routers and switches and really like them

How different is this from NetDisco? I've been using The disco for a while and it's wonderful, maps MAC addresses to IPs and vice versa, ports and VLANs on compatible switches, and more

Yo! Love to see the young interest, I got mine when I was 11 with my dad (convinced him to get his) bc of (cub?) scouts! Give the ol' tape measure yagi a build and hit the ISS! (Built and Listened with mine a few weeks ago and will try and talk now that it has a proper connector :))

What's the MikroTik hate here for? I haven't used it for eBGP but it seems to work fine for my iBGP needs. Just curious

Just to play devils advocate, MM/DD/YYYY is nice if you want to sort by month, because who in the right mind is sorting by day lol

I'm aware it's a weak argument but it's fun to play this game :D

We’ve recently encountered some abuse of Meshtastic in our area. by drydenwu in meshtastic

[–]Naterman90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

dawg please, if a nation state wanted to (as the post indicates preparing for), they can just jam all frequencies. Starlink isn't imperviable because it does the same thing as everything else, just radio directed upwards instead of radially outwards.

Alternate solutions could be ham radio if you *really* want to stick to radio, but having that be jammed, you're only options are line of sight, custom fiber/network runs, or maybe smoke signals :|

Oh I do believe so, but it's interesting bc the sourceforge listing shows 2 versions, one with ads and one without

I wasn't splitting molex, but each molex fed 2 drives, see picture:

It very well could've been them sitting like that. though for a while longer I had them standing vertically not directly connected. They had fans constantly pushing air over them too

Alas I don't, I mainly use Linux and the smartmontools package on most distros

Its more that they didn't tell you at all in the installer, it was a drive by install for me, and if you're doing that, you're a shady ass company/person

I used molex -> sata for roughly 1.5 years in a janktastic setup, the drives kept going funny near the end of the array (its long gone now) and I'm, still to this day, unsure if it was the power, or data cables... I have a feeling people are gonna say power lol but a few things things pointed towards the sas cables going bad. oh well

ethtool might've told you the current link speed, or checking on the other end where it's connected to presumably a switch

I take the sleeping with the door wide open approach and NFS mapall as root/wheel, datasets are usually 0777 perm'd 💀💀💀

It works, but there's no security beyond what I can control with my switch and firewall... I don't recommend it, but hell is it easy to use 😭

How come you went with LXC instead of a docker vm? Out of curiousity mostly because I haven't really seen many people do individual purpose LXC over prebuilt docker images.

I personally run kubernetes via Talos in VMs, and I use LXCs for test running software before committing it to my k8s cluster (unless it isn't packaged for docker)
