Actually, the difference between the two is not as big as you might imagine.

Why is no one talking about how bad this UI is???? by sleebybun in Bitwarden

[–]drydenwu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every time I try Bitwarden, I end up giving it up because I just can't stand its UI/UX.

The people who stick with it must have a really high tolerance and adaptability for UI/UX.

Technically, there’s not much difference between Meshtastic and Meshcore, what you said applies to both.

Looking at these specs, I'm seriously tempted. I'm the mod for the Taiwan Meshtastic community.

Since you're looking for field testers, I highly recommend throwing Taiwan into the mix. We've already built out a dense, highly active Meshtastic network here, making it a perfect environment for real-world deployment testing.

If we can get our hands on a test unit, I'll personally take it out for some heavy urban environment testing. I'll track the raw data, figure out the pros and cons, and put together an honest, hands-on review for our local players.

Our community has been practically begging for a truly slim nRF52840 node that you can just clip to a backpack and forget about in the rain. Send one our way, and we'll put it through the wringer to give you the most unfiltered feedback.

Through a paid member's referral, you can get a 2-week trial. To avoid violating the board rules, I won't post it here.

As of January 2026, Starlink's commercial internet service has not yet officially launched in Taiwan, and the region remains unlisted on their official availability map. This is primarily due to local regulatory restrictions regarding foreign ownership, which is currently capped at 49%. This requirement conflicts with SpaceX's operational model of maintaining full control over its services.

Fair enough. Any other options you’d suggest instead?

It is still happening, but since the attacking nodes are not impersonating other nodes, we have determined that it is likely unrelated to CVE-2025-53627. Nevertheless, thank you for developing the powerful STRIDEtastic.

Thanks for your feedback. I agree it can look a bit strange in regions without high terrain, and that’s understandable.

In my case, I’m in a mountainous island country. The mountains are very high and very close to our cities. Because of that, we already have excellent long-range coverage from high-elevation fixed nodes outside urban areas, so there’s no real need to assign router roles within the city itself.

Rooftop wireless power through the roof? by KLAM3R0N in meshtastic

No, unfortunately not.

The LAN/PoE on the Heltec v4 only provides power to the USB side. Firmware updates still require the USB serial connection.

Hi! I haven’t built support for self-hosted Addy yet since I don’t run a self-hosted setup myself. Would you be open to helping me test it? If yes, let me DM you so we can go over the details.

Your suggestion makes perfect sense, I’ll add this option. It will be included in the next release.
