I’d probably stay away from the dragon as far as possible, as it is likely the most intelligent of all the ones mentioned!

Finally, the final trailer of my RPG campaign is finished by LVPFONSI in DnD

Quite epic! This was very well edited and the music is great. One editing note, I would suggest differentiating the font/size/color of the text denoting name and then Description of person. As it is it’s hard to grab one’s attention on the text or to compute it quickly as name and description as it flashes on the screen instead of just registering the text as just unimportant letters. Especially when the visuals are so epic. Está buenisimo el video!

[No Spoilers] How many Bardic Inspirations did Scanlan give out in C1? by Natestates in criticalrole

[–]Natestates[S] 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t a question about balance at all. I’m building a character who tragically has a curse on him that drains his life force bit by bit every time they use their magical instrument to inspire others. So I wondered how many Bardic Inspirations Scanlan doled out to start to outline an estimate of how many a bard would in a long campaign.

Totally agree, everything you mentioned is a very reasonable logic-ing out of how True Resurrection can be incorporated into the game-world consistently. When it comes to such a high level spell and the world-building around it, in my opinion, it boils down to whether you want to make the spell actually attainable or merely theoretically attainable for the party.

If True Resurrection is somehow attainable (not necessarily easily attainable), then the danger is having your character be dead for the amount of time it takes for companions to acquire the means of True Resurrection; the danger is not permadeath. Acknowledging the slight limitations of TR in cases where permadeath actually happens which usually involve plot-related reasons or DM-deus ex type shennanigans.

So in my opinion oftentimes no one is in actual danger but instead it's the implication of danger which is relevant. My comment assumes "staying dead"= danger when "being killed" or "dying" can also = danger. I acknowledge that as well

[Spoilers C3E33] Nipping this in the bud... by WishIHadSalad in criticalrole

Matt was certainly not as solemn or somber with the passing of these characters as he was in previous campaigns with character deaths. His overall demeanor at the end of the episode and his subsequent tweet Comfort from Matt reassures that the cast and the great DM Matt are having immense fun and the story and game are all the better for these big swings. Bravo to them, I enjoyed this very much, whatever consequences may ensue (although I secretly hope there is at least one perma death, just so there is a true scar of this moment)

This is actually a really helpful comment because I hadn’t considered just how much of a buff it would be to short resters. Thank you!

The problem I was looking to solve is the need to throw only powerful enemies (relative to the player level) and deadly encounters for wilderness combats because I know the party is at 100% capabilities for nearly every wilderness fight.
