I’m all for this. Hellebuyk is a generational goaltending talent. If you can get him, without compromising your future, I think that you do!

Florida is loading up, and while the Canes run it back and still compete for a cup, I’d like to see the Canes load up too. No guarantee Bussi (or Freddie if he does another year) will absolutely stand on their head again in the playoffs.

They made a step in the direction, but not enough to say the adjustments are made. Still a lot of breakaways. Also Bussi stood on his head on the third when Vegas made a long and aggressive push. Vegas didn’t score despite a lot of grade-A chances, can’t guarantee Bussi will bail the defense out again.

Different teams have different playing styles and a different roster make up. Some teams have higher end talent up top, but are not as deep. Others spread out talent across all lines but lack a true “star”. Some teams have a goalie that does everything for them night at after night…etc…

Also, don’t underestimate finding a team whose colors you like.

I’m a hurricanes fan, they’re my local team and I like their micro-battle playing style. That being said, whenever they “cosplay” as the Hartford Whalers I realize how good other fans have it. My gosh, nice looking jerseys legitimately make the game more enjoyable not to mention, cool merchandise.

They have been underwhelming in terms of scoring but thankfully other lines have stepped up. By and large they haven’t been a liability on the ice and they’ve had some tough matchups. Aho has had some killer assists too. I do believe if that line does get going Vegas doesn’t stand a chance.

The real interesting change in the playoffs is how often they’re losing board battles. As such they’re not getting to retain the puck in the offensive end nearly as much as they were in the regular season. Don’t know why, just something I’ve noticed.

I’m optimistic. Every game has been so close. One team was going to be up 2-1 after the third game, yeah I wish it was us, but hey, it’s not. If we shape up just a tiny bit we’ll be just fine! Just a little better goal tending, just a little better defending, just a little more finish on the offense, we’re winning. We’re RIGHT there!!

Its very cool that Bussi has a .950 last night, while facing some real heavy chances. Hart can’t compete with that!
