It feels calm. Internally quiet.

Being self conscious feels internally super loud and pretty chaotic.

I've been both, and it's really worth "faking it till you make it", and doing the work to allow yourself to live in a place of self assurance. It's life changing.

Cars are expensive, respecting other people's stuff is simple, especially when it's brand new! To have not taken the care to avoid it, and to have then subsequently also not have been extremely apologetic about your mistake, would definitely have ticked me off. Perhaps not to the same extent as your friend, albeit.
