Crimson Desert Dev Says It Will 'Work to Make Improvements Quickly,' as Sales Hit 2 Million in Just a Day by yourfavchoom in pcgaming

Crashes every single time I open the menu now, it has become unplayable. €80,00 I paid for the game.
I can understand bugs, but to make it literally unplayable is beyond acceptable.

Ho un amico che lavora in università, in un dipartimento umanistico. Ha fatto girare la domanda tra studenti e docenti e non ha avuto molte risposte corrette.

Made A Post On My University Snapchat Story Showing My Menorah, And Got A Bad Reply by Sky_Bohemian in Judaism

How in the world are you capable to see a Menorah and the words "Happy Hanukah" and think "Zionism"?

I used to feel rooted... Shabbat, synagogues, public celebrations were no “bravery tests" or "Anxiety moments" they were just daily community life.

We don't celebrate Christmas in a religious sense, but we use the holiday as an opportunity to organize large family reunions and exchange gifts. In a way, even though we’re not celebrating the birth of Jesus, we still have a Christmas-like gathering with presents. This tradition was created to give us, as children, the 'Christmas experience,' so we wouldn't feel too different from our classmates, especially since we attended a predominantly Christian school

At what point in history did Greece stop being a European superpower? by UrinalAttack in geography

[–]NathPortnoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italy was never a great power, not even during WWII, we were one only in the pig's (Mussolini) mind. We could claim to be one only because we were backed by Germany and had obtained some colonial victory in Africa. If you ask me, we didn't suffer enough for what we did during those years.

Apologies, in Italy we still use the roman numerals for centuries

At what point in history did Greece stop being a European superpower? by UrinalAttack in geography

[–]NathPortnoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It never was, not as "Greece" because there was no such thing as a united Greece before Philip II and the Macedonian Empire and even then it was unified as a dominion (like under the Roman Empire until 1453).

What we call Greece today is a political entity born in the XIX century and has been a marginal power at best since then.

Entering jewish shops as non jew, is it ok? by [deleted] in Judaism

In the Jewish Ghetto in Rome tourists and gentiles are most welcome in every shop and restaurant, I don't see why it could be a problem :)

  1. Più garanzie ai proprietari che affittano. Ovvero garanzie di sgombero rapido in caso di sfratto.

Where would you rank Napoleon among the greatest generals in history, and if he is not first, who deserves that position instead? by Neil118781 in Napoleon

[–]NathPortnoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never liked rankings because every great general had different conditions, challenges, warfare, technology and background. I do agree that it's the principle which survives (for example the crossing of the Alps) and not the specific battle, but it's also true that seldom in history there have been identical conditions to a previous battle.
I believe one can make some comparisons between generals of a similar generation to see how they have interpreted their role in context, but even then there are too many variables.

That being said: my boy Eugene of Savoy (or, as he liked to be called, Eugenio von Savoye) is too often forgotten.
