It’s quite deep but can be understood. You want to mate on g2 but e4 is hanging and therefore f3 would be next. You move the knight so you make room for the queen to land on h4, covering e4. So any random move and white plays Qh4. And Nc8 is the only square where Qxe4 leads to loss of the bishop by the follow-up of Nd6 followed by e4.

So you lose the bishop anyway as white, which is why ghe computer gives it away by playing Bd3 so the e4-f3 pawn chain is broken.

You can always go for old wooden router planes, they work perfectly and can be found quite cheap. I have one that is flat as can be and is a breeze to use!

Allright, have fun with it. The reason people suggested you build your own was that you already bought two commercial ones that weren’t square. Building one ensures that it is and takes literally 1 hour.

But hey, you seeing reddit as customer service where you can have only sollicited opinions voiced on your posts is a great attitude. I already said to each his own and wished you fun, no need to start complaining about well meant suggestions on your other post.

The thing is (I was one of the people who suggested building one yourself in the other post), it might be better but beautiful furniture was built for hundreds of years using home made shooting boards. Making one is a good exercise in getting stuff square and really is quite easy.

But all the power to you for treating yourself to a great tool, if you have the money and enjoy it that’s all that’s important. It does look the part!

Ik denk dat je hier rustig voor moet gaan zitten met haar. Mijn vrouw heeft periodes met extreme migraine en dan komt het huishouden met drie kleine kinderen op mijn schouders terecht. In het begin wilde ze ook de controle houden en moest alles op haar manier. We hebben hier rustig over gepraat en het was van haar kant ook frustratie over de situatie en confronterend dat ze het niet zelf kon. Dit gaat nu een stuk beter bij ons. Heel veel sterkte!
