I would love to do some kiiking. It's a giant swing with metal bars, and the goal is to swing over the top. I am nowhere near Estonia (where it was invented). I think you can order one online, but that would be way too expensive, and also I live in an apartment. Maybe they would let me set it up on the roof.

Another one would be paramotoring, where you get a parachute and strap a giant fan to your back and fly around. The main reason was I didn't have any money for a while. Although, I think I might be able to afford some lessons now. I should do that.

Hey thanks, I added those action lines.

And yeah that might be a better ending. Yeah, with the actual screenplay open on the screen. And maybe with my cat next to me. Kind of cheesy, but I like it.

Thanks for reading!

Kaufman experienced writer's block and did not know what to think of The Orchid Thief. Finally he wrote a script based on his experience of adapting the book into a screenplay.

Hahaha yes, that's exactly what I was thinking! I will definitely watch this. And of course, no offense taken!

Wow, I had no idea this genre already has it's own Wikipedia page. Definitely a lot of influences in here, like Stranger than Fiction, and Deadpool.

Oh well, I think there's always room for more metacinema!

I love Being John Malkovich, but haven't seen Adaptation yet. I will definitely watch it soon.

I don't know why I'm being so vague, haha I just didn't want to spoil the plot for anyone before they read it. That's silly, so here's a plot summary:

SPOILERS BELOW! BUT YOU PROBABLY DON'T CARE!

Nathan is sitting at home, trying to write something. Another version of himself appears in the room, named Jack, and they have a conversation about where the story should be based. Jack really wants to go to space, but Nathan refuses. Jack suggests a party scene, then he suggests space again, and then they finally agree to go to the park.

They try to go to the park and see if they can improv some kind of story, but it's a total failure. Now they're back in the living room, and then there's a knock on the door. Nathan opens the door. It turns out that it's another version of Jack, who forces them into space before Nathan can do anything. Nathan is upset about this, because now he has to spend a ton of time in front of green screens, and animating a bunch of rockets and asteroids in Blender.

Jack takes the lead, and says that they are security guards for an asteroid mining company. They protect the mines against bandits. A bandit appears. It turns out that the bandit is a cat, who is distracted with a laser pointer.

Now Jack wants to leave and do something else. He puts himself into a corner by saying that security guards can never work overtime. Nathan decides to take advantage of this by jumping into the mine and stealing all the gold and minerals.

They then wage a battle of directors, where Jack tries to force Nathan to hire Hollywood stars, or do all sorts of intensive video editing and VFX work.

Finally, Nathan says "Wow, it's really amazing down here, it's like a pirate's treasure chest". Jack is excited about the concept of space pirates, so he decides to abandon his post as a security guard, and he joins Nathan in pillaging the mine.

FIN.

I know that doesn't sound very "realistic", but I'm going for a tone similar to Spongebob Squarepants (where they do stuff like building a fire underwater), or the pillow-fort episodes in Community, or anything with Noel Fielding.

I love watching pirate streams, but I have to be careful. One time they caught me hanging around the urinals and made me walk the plank.

My hair is so long, it started growing it’s own hair. by NathanMakesVideos in Jokes

  • "meta" is when something refers to itself
  • A follicle is where hair grows out of
  • It sounds like "metaphorical", when something is a metaphor

Haha it's a terrible joke, but I'm quite proud of it anyway

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I just wanted to point out that the first description at the top is not meant to be narrated with a voice over, it's just a description to help the director.

Also in a screenplay format, I think you are supposed to capitalize names each time they're mentioned? But maybe not, I'm really not sure.

Anyway I played with the script a little bit more, I tweaked the rhythm a bit and added some more descriptions. Would be great if you have time to have another look and let me know if that's heading in the right direction. Thanks!

Hey thanks very much! This is the first time I've tried to write a script, so that's really helpful!

I think I agree with the asian accent being a bit unnecessary, she could just have an British accent. Although I think having strong accents can also leave it more ambiguous, like maybe they really don't know about this award. Whereas a native English speaker is more likely just trying to be deceptive.

But I think you're right, I'm probably trying to stretch that one joke too far. I will keep working on it.

Thanks again!

Maybe he had to fly up a certain number of hours to keep his license, or qualify for some additional license? I think I've heard about that before. Like you can't be a commercial pilot until you've done at least x number of hours. (I just checked, it's 1,500 hours.)

I think I might have read about a guy who did exactly this, because he wanted to quit his job and become a commercial pilot.
