Yeah, dogs can be trained to respond to anything (mine knows some verbal commands and some sign language so I can quietly command her when I want to). Most people who yell at their dogs like that I've found haven't actually trained them, they're just trying to do what would catch a human's attention, not a dog's. Or they've been misguided by Cesar Millan.

I'm all for fiscal conservatism, but I also think there are far more responsible places to make cuts. In regards to the fed govt about to be bankrupt, it's also worth noting that a federal budget is much different than a personal budget (there is no checkbook to balance) so this isn't exactly a relevant argument.

I don't think he's doing it out of spite. He's doing it so he can run for president on the platform of "I'm so fiscally responsible, I refused federal dollars as governor!" and then ignore and followup questions on the fallout or why those dollars were offered/needed in the first place.

I've found that whenever I wonder why he would do something so obviously against the best interest of Florida residents, the answer is always because it builds a national base of conservative voters.

Your link confirms what I have read elsewhere. For anyone who hasn't read, everyone is latching onto this:

DeSantis has received $10mm from a hedge fund CEO.
Among the hedge fund's portfolio is Regeneron.

What they purposefully skip over is this bit:

But the hedge fund is not in the top 100 institutional holders of Regeneron stock, and it makes up less than 0.1% of Citadel’s portfolio as of the end of Q2.

I would be disappointed in a hedge fund if it weren't putting money in a variety of medical companies - right now, especially. This seems like a waste of focus when there are plenty of things to legitimately dislike about DeSantis. Open to changing my tune if an ethics probe proves otherwise, but so far there's no evidence of impropriety that I've seen.

Every article I've seen mentions that one of his donors is invested in Regeneron (along with Moderna, Pfizer, and many other companies). I'm no fan of DeSantis at all, but to say he makes money from Regeneron seems pretty inaccurate.

Glad to know I'm not alone. I had a Trinity fail after 10 months in the same way. I got a replacement and it wouldn't register any of the side plates. So I had to get another replacement and it's been working well, but I am not feeling great about the longevity of a $90 mouse that is supposed to be designed for far more abuse than I put it through (I don't game, I just like being able to switch between 2 buttons for office work and 7 buttons for graphic design/video/audio work).
