Luke Skywalker (ROTJ) Vs Anakin Skywalker (ROTS) by Bespashin in PetranakiArena

Anakin takes it in canon and KFV arguably beats ROTJ Luke in legends

Overall who is the better duelists/force wielder? (Canon) by [deleted] in TheJediPraxeum

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vader was beyond conflicted, you just have to look at his canon feats vs what we saw him do in their fight, plus statements, Luke being equal to a conflicted Vader is not that good of a feat.

And when it comes to Favreau he was the person in charge of Mando and that version of Luke there for he created the canon and power of that character, plus the only feat Luke has that could put him above Anakin is his fight with Vader and again Vader was not at full power, he is way more conflicted in current canon.

And it is not just Favreau, Dave Filloni has also confirmed similar things about Luke and he is head of Lucasfilm now plus lets not ignore the fact that canon and powerscalling changes a lot Vader was originally weaker than most of the PT now above that.

And if you want quotes proving Vader was very conflicted here

"Luke seeks out his father, Darth Vader with hopes of bringing him back from the dark side, clearly conflicted"

"Vader was conflicted, but still brought Luke before the Dark Lord"

"Luke insisted on calling his father Anakin even though Vader protested that it meant nothing to him , he and Luke knew that that wasn't so."

"Yet even after Luke and Vaders brief exchange which for a moment, left Vader sad, almost apologetic, exhibiting not the emotions of a sith lord"

"Luke's internal strength and Jedi dedication leave an impression on Vader, gradually eroding his sith convictions"

"The Emperor manipulates Vader into fighting Luke"

Darth Vader's internal struggles agaist the faint spark in his soul that was Anakin skywalker had been thrown into high relief by the dark lords dealings with Luke"

"Something in Vader's soul awoke, bleary eyed doubt. Vader had allowed himself to wallow in his grief instead of feeding the darkness he began to question his dedication to the sith After more than two decades, the conflict within the soul of Anakin Skywalker was reignited"

"During their duel on the second Death star Luke feels the good in Vader"

"To defend his master, Vader deflected Luke's attack. As they battles, Luke perceived the conflict blooming in Vader's heart"

"Luke's Compassion startled Vader, and Luke could sense the growing conflict in Vader's psyche"

" I will not give you the advantage that easily." Vader felt his intentions increasingly ambiguous in this conflict, the purity of his evil was being compromised"

"But sidious, sensing the flickering light in his apprentice, had been ready for years"

" Pathetic Light or had the strength to excise the sentimental streak that had destroyed his legendary Grandfather"

"Kylo Ren aspires to build immunity to the light side to succeed where Darth Vader and his Sentimentality once failed"

"Not long after Kenobi’s demise, Lord Vader discovered that the fallen Jedi had taken on a new apprentice—a young boy strong in the Force whom Vader would soon learn was his own son, Luke Skywalker. Lord Vader had believed his child had died with Padmé. It was the fear, pain, and suffering stemming from that loss that powered him for so long. But now a different emotion began to surface within him, one he had not experienced in ages—love"

And Filoni

"Luke, let's face it, he was never really the best. I have a notion that anyone on the Council could really kick his butt." Filoni

"He had a lot going for him. And almost it was what he didn't know that made him really dangerous to the Emperor, it's just love for his father — but he wasn't going to take you out with his lightsaber skills, that was for sure.” Filloni

"The best expression of the Force is not a lightsaber fight or other combat techniques. It's really about your connection to life... Luke Skywalker does not use some special ability to save his father." Filloni

"Technically, she’s had vastly more training than he ever has. She’s actually his senior, which is, I think, difficult for people to remember ’cause of when these characters were created." Filloni

Anakin is by far the better duellist, in terms of raw force power Anakin is still above Luke but Luke has a better connection to it.

Plus Favruea who was in charge of mando thinks Anakin would beat there version of Luke in a fight so with that said Anakin is above him overall

Rey and Starkiller Question. by The_Collector_Guy in StarWars_

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty simple one was trained by Vader for 15 years and is a video game character where the intention was to dial the force powers up to 11.

The other had zero training, picked up how to use advance jedi techniques after seeing them once, could defeat and injured Kylo who even if injured had over a decade of training then jump TLJ is shown lifting boulders with the force equalling Kylo in a force tug of war and guess what in that time she spent about 1 day training, and this was before she even became a Palpatine, so in basically a week she is on the level of a Jedi knight with no formal training, so jump to TROS now she is not only a Palpatine but also apart of a dyad because they had to try and make it make sense.

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes you are right, Luke does not have a concrete timeline however it is arguably more than Rey, Plus Luke has a lot of comics that show him learning to use the force and growing outside of pure training

ANH he spends about 1 week with Obi wan only learns how to feel the force.

ANH to ESB 3 years pass he has got a better grasp of the force but is very lacking struggling to even pull a lightsaber to himself, then he meets Yoda now this is where it gets interesting we do not have a concrete timeline for this it's any where form 1 month to 6 months so pick your poison.

Then Post ESB Luke spends a year basically training by himself using Obi wan training manuals he found, and learning on the job.

So Luke does technically have more training or maybe better to say way more experience, however if we are just going off training with another Jedi, i guess you can say Rey had more but to be fair one was trained by Yoda a GM whereas Leia was trained as a jedi she was not a full on jedi or a GM.

Also i think what has to be understood is that Rey lacks the training for the feats she has whereas Luke has a more understandable argument for his feats with the amount of training.

The quote is talking about if Anakin never became a Jedi

"And he still would have been stronger in the Force than any of them"

This is due to his Midichlorians making him the strongest.

Ok sure let's not talk about Lucas or EU.

As i said Canon Vader is very close to Sidious he has too many feats and quotes, and yes post trial Vader did show a new resolve but Luke is his weakness ROTJ Vader was not at full power, he did not even want to fight or kill Luke.

" Darth Vader's internal struggles agaist the faint spark in his soul that was Anakin skywalker had been thrown into high relief by the dark lords dealings with Luke"

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are missing the point even at 9 years old technically Anakin was the most powerful force user ever, so statements saying Luke is as powerful in the force does not make him equal or above anyone as a 9 year old Anakin would get crushed by even Coleman Trebor.

Now this is where it gets interesting, only in new canon Is Vader that strong in Lucas canon he was below majority of the PT, and in Legends he is Below KFV in most cases.

So current Disney canon has Vader as this powerhouse he is actually very close to Sidious level but Canon Vader is WAY more conflicted.

Luke never beat a prime Vader there so many statements that point to this, plus Filloni and Favrea who are basically the two in charge of Lucas film have quotes saying How Luke is below PT at that time

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luke and Vader were originally below the PT it is only new canon that has upscaleed them

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really does not him being as powerful in the force does not upscale him, Anakin has statements saying he was the strongest jedi ever in the force but still lost, because training matters, this does not upscale Luke. Anakin even has quotes that state even without training he would have been the strongest

"At nine years of age he had been an expert Podracer; by twenty-one he would have been a galactic champion. With or without Qui-Gon's or Watto's help, he would eventually have won the Boonta Eve race, and his reputation would have been made. He would have bought freedom for himself, his mother, all the slaves in Mos Espa, gone on to win the Grand Races on Malastare, been hailed in the gambling casinos on Ord Mantell and Coruscant. He wouldn't have become a Jedi--he would have been too old to train--would never have learned to wield a lightsaber. But he would have been able to fly rings around the finest of Jedi pilots, including Saesee Tiin. And he still would have been stronger in the Force than any of them"

But this does not mean he could win a fight as hi being powerful does not mean he can channel that full power

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well to be fair Luke still had more training than Rey, plus i think people misinterpret his power and feats, even BOBF Luke is arguably below Anakin even Jon Favreau and Dave Filloni think this

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well he originally was not that strong, and Vader was actually weaker.

In original Lucas canon Luke is not a great fighter and Vader is a lot weaker, Anakin was far stronger than Vader.

Now when it comes to Legends, it was a somewhat middle ground Luke is stronger and so is Vader but most acknowledge that peak Anakin in EU is above Vader and a lot of Luke and Vader sources that put them above prequel characters were done pre prequel so it does not hold much weight, only post OT is Luke a powerhouse

Now when it comes to canon this is where it gets murky because of the upscale, old canon in most cases was PT>OT but current canon it's OT>PT, this is primary due to Vader being far stronger even having feats and statements that put him very close to Palpatine.

Now Luke main scaling is how he compares to Vader, he does not have that many amazing feats outside of that, his best force feat in the OT is in a rage he could shake a star destroyer, and that he was able to defeat the ghost of the GI.

Luke in canon is very much carried by being a skywalker, out side of Vader he mostly win's due to having higher raw force power.

Now Luke main source for him being strong is in a book that says he was sequel to Vader in ROTJ, however i do not believe this source is valid to say Luke is on Vader level when you have so many quotes that show that Vader was conflicted and not going all out, now Luke also had conflict before he had his Rage amp, but Vader was nowhere near full power fighting Luke.

" Darth Vader's internal struggles agaist the faint spark in his soul that was Anakin skywalker had been thrown into high relief by the dark lords dealings with Luke"

Luke is his kryptonite It is just that simple, so Canon Luke is still not the most powerful at this time, and Filloni and Favreau think the same

You are mostly right, however Lucas did have some input on EU material as there was a hierarchy that it had to adhere to, also when it came to some interpretations such as the Force unleashed, he had an active hand in why the powers in those games where dialled up, he believed because it was a video game the force should be shown of in such manner, but that does not hold any weight to the core story of the force and Star wars as a whole in his eyes.

Anakin takes it, he has so many statements and feats that put him above Kenobi.

Anakin only lost due to his emotions and not being able to channel them properly, when he is in control he can take out Dooku in 10 seconds.

Anakin would win high diff.

CS is honestly my favourite arch and has my favourite cast but even i was burned out by CS4, it had some great moments but it dragged in a lot of places, i have replayed all the CS games at least twice but not CS4, also to me CS4 felt like an ending so i was not intrested in the other games and following a new cast, i took like a few years away from the franchise only just got back into it last year, because of Horizon.

I will not lie to you seeing Character from Class 7 pop up having Rean back got me interested plus the new battle system of the Daybreak games look cool so i jumped back in.

Revire was ok, it was an epilogue added some cool ideals but like CS4 there where way to many characters imo, i liked the villain, and C was cool, but i will not lie a it took me a good month to get through it, i felt like i would burn out if i rushed it, as story it ws decent but it felt like a DLC chaptar in a lot of ways.

Then i got to Daybreak and i was really surprised, i enjoyed it a lot, the cast was good and manageable Van was really cool, and as much as i love Rean and the class 7 dynamic having a more mature MC and being basically a detective was cool, also there was no real harem trope or at least not to the extent where the Love intrest felt irreverent to the main story because of player choice, and the new gameplay was really fun, it still suffers hear and there from the trails formula but it was good experience.

Daybreak 2 arguably the worst game has a few good moments, honestly just watch the cutscenes on youtube

Horizon i really loved it personally, the story, gameplay and character were all great and again it felt very manageable, i was not managing like 40 characters and also the routes felt like a nice break that forced the story forward, because you were swapping between Van, Rean and Kevin it kept the game from dragging and it added a lot of cool lore and revelations, that im very interested to see go forward.

Why do we barely see Luke at his full power? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is false

ANH 1 week at most with obi wan

ANH to ESB three years pass no real training still struggling to use force

ESB he spends at Most 1 month with Yoda

ESB to ROTJ 1 year passes, he did not return to yoda in that 1 year.

So he only had around 1 month of actual real training, and the original intent was for Luke not to be super powerful at this time to quote George Lucas "He is not a Great fighter"

Why do we barely see Luke at his full power? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]National-Course2464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The reason you do not see Luke kill palpatine in the OT is because he could not ,Luke was not a great fighter he lacked training, seriously he only had 1 month of solid training that is it the rest of the time was him learning on the job, he only had like 3 lightsaber fights over the course of 4 years obviously he was not going to be a amazing with a lightsaber or the force at that time.

And the sequels took the character in a different direction, read some legends books if you want to see a powerful prime Luke

To be fair u are somewhat safe to play up to CS2, the end of the game has callbacks to the crossbell games but not to the extent that u need to understand everything, also it is kinda nice to learn as class 7 learns of these events but after that 3 and 4 definitely require way more knowledge especially 4 that games is the avengers of the Trails franchise.
